If I support proposal 56.00.6, am I required to use my essence to assist in it's completion? My essence is a bit sparse and I've been trying to save it for working to protect my subjects.

You can abstain on a proposal to make sure it doesn't die, at least. You don't need to spend Essence on a project you abstained on if it passes. To abstain, you actually need to say that you abstain.

How exactly does the influence system work? I know that having more influence will generate more essence, but how is influence determined? Is it based on your sphere's influence or your own? Like, if the God of Ice nuked the battle (not saying he did), would he gain influence for having affected the world or not gained influence because it does not involve his sphere?

Quartz_Mace: The influence system is somewhat more hidden from view than most of the other mechanics. You increase it by doing things that last for a long time that don't necessarily involve certain followers in particular. Your Deception-derived influence will increase if, for example, people everywhere become more deceptive.
