"Vhy vould you swim? Are you a seal?"

"A...seal?..." Osirio mutters, thinking back to his life in the desert wastes. "...Anyway, I was not given much choice. I had dropped my sword into the pool during...well, I had decided, in the poverty and pride of my youth, that I had to dive down and reclaim it. There was also a bit of egging on from my...lady companion, about dropping my sword at such a time...she was quite a tease..." He continues, expansively. "You must understand, during this time I was a member of  a mercenary band called 'Frocasters Furious Fireswords'. Frocaster felt that our swords were our most valuable possessions, and if we wanted to continue to working for him we had better keep a good grip on them...ah.

It's not like it was a magic sword, or anything. Frocaster was the only one with a real Firesword. The rest of us doused ours in flaming oil before we charged the enemy lines."

He paused to take a breath.

"Flaaaames of Fuuuury!, he made us yell, every time." Osirio rolls his eyes. "Of course, one time it rained during battle and we were laughed off the field. Needless to say I gained an aversion to theatrics, but a love of mercenary alliteration...

That doesn't answer your question very well, does it. Oh well.

Anyway, what is a 'seal'? Is that like a dog, of some sort?" He asked.

”A seal? Why, it’s a furious combustible sea creature the size and breadth of fully four score cows! Blasphemously naked it is, and it’s got teeth the size of oak trees and digestive juices the strength of molten rock… they’re typically rather amiable animals though, so I’ve heard tell. More so than dogs. Long as you don't look wrong at it. Saw many a great deal of 'em in the distance, back home."

"Yes. You stuff five hundred auk birds into zhe seal corpse and let it rot underground for zeven months. Zhen it is ready, and you dig it up. Zhe birds are ready by zhat time, and you eat zhem. You biyte off zhe heads and drink. Zhey taste like the cheese zhey make here in zhe zoft lands."

"And, you complain of my zeazoning." Osirio humphs, mocking her tone. "Still, it sounds like something everyone must try at least once..."

"Pass."

"Hmmph. At least it iz not burning poizon like your jerk." She looked at Osirio. "Should ve stay and loot zhis place? We might find zomething vorth fighting."

[Nerjin]

"I suggest we keep moving. Better to not tarry longer than w-... Wait, Captain, did you say you lit the sword on fire with oil? That's demonstrably a terrible idea... Anyways I say we do a surface search to see if there is anyone keeping a lookout on us and then move on."

"Concentrate, Bold Men! We're on a sort of job now. Let's come back after we've found some place to hang our hoods in this mushroom man village ahead. Perhaps then we will have time to explore..."

"I suggest we keep moving. Better to not tarry longer than w-... Wait, Captain, did you say you lit the sword on fire with oil?"

"Frocaster was not that much of a strategist, to be sure."
