"You mean the dead person? As terrible it is that someone was killed for this, the fact of the matter remains that last time we faced that masked man we were helpless. We need to take the advantages we're given. And if that means taking something negative, like a theoretically innocent person dying, and using it for something positive, then I say we need to do it."

"Very well, if you feel it is the best use of this soul gem then I shall ask her about it," Asher answered and then quietly added under his breath,

Then talk of morality arose.

"Ah yes, let me just use this indistinguishable soul energy to summon a soulless husk of a person and ask for their permission that they won't be able to give."

Tomik couldn't help but let out a poorly held back laugh at the summoner's snark.

"... Well, we could have done something last time. Man's a mage, they're notorious for their weakness."

"You really think that we could have done anything to a man that appeared to have mastery of both dark and light magic, can teleport in and out at his whim, has this entire city apparently terrified of him, and is able to demand things of the Ixion government apparently? Or do you just have a death wish?"

"Yes."

[Swordstar]

"Then you really are an idiot. If you'd tried to do something before we handed over the key, he would have killed Lilly and you. And the only reason you're not dead after attacking him after we handed out the key is because of the whole floor moving. If you don't have enough of a battle sense to tell you when someone outclasses you..."

"I never said I didn't realize that he outclassed me."

"True. I guess you did just say we could have done something. We could have died."

"I mean, it would appear we did that regardless. Really, could have just sped this whole thing along if we were dead."

[Swordstar]

Tomik glared at Kyle, his fist clenching slightly.

"Don't you dare say that around Senija, or I will make you regret it. We didn't die, we were tossed in there alive and we escaped still alive. So don't even start with that."

Harlan just silently wondered whether or not Tomik would approve of Kyle being stabbed right in front of him.

"I'd never say that in front of Senija, she kind of scares me. But face it Tomik, You had a fucking building collapse on you and I was stabbed multiple times before being dragged off. We were dead."

"If I may weigh in as someone who helped open the gate, watched as Ketsuki's master was thrown into the gate, alive, and was then thrown into the gate myself; you weren't dead. You'd have been more of the mindless horde reanimated by divine magic if that were the case. I reason the only reason he was part of the horde is because we didn't have a stable link when he got tossed in."
