"I'll certainly try not to," Asher said as he took the blade in one hand and the soul gem in another, holding them a few inches apart. He started to chant something unintelligible and the soul energy began to flow into the sword; the soul gem's glow slowly growing weaker until it ceased entirely.

"That should do it," Asher said as he handed the sword back to Ketsuki and then to no one in particular, "Maybe I should've settled for being a weapon enchanter?"

Catherine wanders the city, looking for one of the party healers to give one of the heal staves to.

[Solymr]

The sword started glowing faintly as had the gem before the procedure, but other than that it didn't look like much had changed.

Until a voice was heard, directed at Ketsuki.

Whatchoo lookin' at, patchface?

The voice came from the sword itself.

= "The sword, it... talked...?"

[Solymr]

Of course I talked, is there a law against it?

[GiglameshDespair]

She frowned and looked up.
"Can either of you hear it? I did not expect you to make my master's blade like this, summoner."

[SeriousConcentrate]

Lilly poked Laura's arm.

"I just remembered, all this talk about your family and I don't even know your last name. I can hardly keep an ear out for news if I don't know what to listen for."

[Haspen]

"...Silfursverd. My father and all my siblings are in army"

[SeriousConcentrate]

"Silfursverd. That's an unusual name... I'll remember it."

[F.O.E.]

Asher was absolutely dumbfounded by the talking sword.

"I certainly didn't expect this to happen!" was the only defense he could give himself. "I've never done it with a soul gem before so I thought it'd work like other enchantments."

He was, of course, interested in the talking sword but he decided he should maybe wait a bit before whipping out his journal.

[GiglameshDespair]

She gave it some experimental, swift swings.
"It doesn't feel any different to swing... I hope you haven't just it be able to talk."

She looked at the sword, somewhat awkwardly.
"So... sword. What... what is your name. I cannot just call you 'sword.'"

[Solymr]

Then give me a name, patchface! I don't remember anything before this.

[GiglameshDespair]

"My name is Ketsuki, not patchface." Something occurred to her. "How can you see, anyway? You have no eyes."

[Solymr]

Same way as I can talk, which is to say I have no idea. I'm a sword, ask nerdface over there.

Ketsuki shut her eye. This had been a terrible mistake, it seems.
