With internet gotten, Look up any public maps of the city. Try to also find some sort of traffic app and see if it can be combined with a map. Then, take what I remember and try to compute routes out of the city from the bank.

That done, check the help wanted pages(both online and from the various papers the team has to have gotten by now) and see if a position for janitorial services is open at the bank.

What kind of route do you want? Just the fastest? And for what time of day? That will effect speed because of traffic.

You check online but find no available positions at this particular bank branch. Hm. Seems like you might have to make one, so to speak.

Ulrich Leland. Location: Apartment

"We don't necessarily have to escape out of the city right after we have robbed the bank."

Check what my instincts (intuition) say about Michael's route planning.

Google if there's any events planned in near future, scheduled road maintainence or anything that may affect the traffic flow in near future.

Also search information about interstellar travel. When did last ship came into the system which rich people might use and when next one leaves. I'm mostly checking if that could be used as excuse for our poor language skills and lack of cultural knowledge.

Nothing yet
There doesn't seem to be any thats not already in place...easy to divert around.
Ships arrive at a steady enough pace that a bunch of culturally insensitive tourists wouldn't seem out of place.

Head back to the apartment and watch the bank from there. Use cam-eyes to scan the possibly mob owned building. See if there is anything interesting going on over there.

"Hey guys? Couple of things. We should probably get cellphones or something to stay in touch with each other. Also, I bet we could get a construction crew to tear up the road at night around the bank, maybe get them to turn off some of the alarms there after they go off enough times. Probably going to have to get one of us on the crew. Might have to have Steve change some work orders. Last thing, we might be able to broker some sort of deal with the...maybe mob people that may or may not be in the building that we don't know anything about. They might have access to material and equipment that we might not have access to. "
The interesting thing is that, while you can partially see through all the other buildings, that one you can't. It seems to have some sort of insulating layer, one that looks sort of like crumpled silver paper.

"What about communicating through the datapads? That way, we wouldn't have to speak out loud."

Turn on the TV, turn on the local news to see if anything of interest is happening. Grab a bunch of snacks and soda, lay them out on the table in front of the couch and be glutenous as I gather information.
The local news is bland and about what you would expect for a city. It starts with an odd intro that betrays the Wayfarer roots of the civilization, some sort of religious sounding maxim about the virtues of exploration, before launching into a combination of puff pieces, stories about the most recent murders, and some world info. Huh, apparently the UWM keeps a pretty keen eye out for genehackers on this planet, because there was a 5 minute story about the recent raids they undertook.

Look up westell on the cafe internet, then head back to the apartment.

Ask Steve if it would be possible to get an electrical blueprint of the building.

No info about westell. Must have just been someone's name. Someone who has a really good wireless modem.

In game yes, but in terms of actual maps, probably not, simply because the limitations of those maps. I can tell you anything you need to know about it through.

Any substances that could work over a few days? Rock, metal, whatever. Separate substances can do, there isn't a need for a single substance doing everything.
Sure there are slower, safer ones, same deal though, need to know the substance.

Not quite the fastest route(as the police would likely close that one off first thing), but one that might surprise authorities while being reasonably quick. Compute for multiple times of day( i.e. morning, noon, dusk, night) since I have no clue yet when we'll be doing this. Combine Ulrich's data on events, and pull up anything about planned construction while I'm at it.

Next, pull up info on anything like campgrounds and wilderness trails outside the city, and see which one is closest to my route out.
My idea is that when we do the heist, we get out of the city and go camping, so to speak, until the heat is off. Then we trickle back into the city and get on our ride out.

"Hey boss? I had an idea on what to do after we pull the heist. do any of our fronts give access to camping equipment?"

Take a look on rooftop of the bank with cameye goggles. Go to our rooftop if necessary, but be careful to not be seen. Is there anything that can be used as entrance? Or any obvious security measures? Evaluate viability of making and using zipline from our roof to the bank's.

Internet time: Find companies that list the bank as their customer, ones providing security systems. If there's none, just select one that's most likely to be the one. Check what kind systems they offer and focus on determining if alarm is transffered to police/someone by wires or wirelessly.

Try to find previous records of robberies targeting the bank. How succesfull they were and what methods they used?

Thaddeus looks at Ulrich:"Ditch the escape vehicle and have another vehicle already in place for us, that could work.", before turning to D'usse: "Hey whatever works is fine by me. We should be able to text on cellphones though, right?"

Huh. Keep watching to see who goes in and out of the maybe mob owned building. Alternate that with watching the bank and seeing how the flow of traffic is, if certain people happen to go in repeatedly throughout the day. Grab a datapad and keep notes.

Speaking to no-one in particular, he says:"So, this may or may not be important, but, that building we know nothing about? It's shielded from me being able to see into it with my cam-eyes. Thats uh, that might be a cause for worry."

Switch the TV to porn, turn the volume down.

"What? If they're monitoring our electronics I want to throw them off. You guys should leave some porn results on the computers as well. Your search history would blend right in."

See if we have any tools or improvised weapons in our apartment, particularly in the kitchen and broom closet, if we have one.

Camping equipment? Yeah, that sounds like the sort of thing our Hunting front could order without issue. What's your plan? I can't imagine we want to stick around long enough to use such equipment, though having some may be a good misdirect.

That's concerning... We'll need to know more about that building before we move, though we should focus on the bank for now. Especially you, we need to evaluate the bank's night security, and you're our best tool for that. Though... hang on, which building was it?
Check notes to determine if the westell signal was strongest near that building

Check (or ask Steve) the electrical blueprint for breaker boxes and communication lines in the entire bank, and any external connections.
Check for any details the blueprint has about the basement level.

Most of them involve getting on the highway and taking it to the outskirts, and then another 45 miles or so to a camping ground. Judging from what you can see, morning and dusk would be bad ideas since the traffic is increased during the rush hours in those times. Noon, Night, or some time before people go to work would be best.

We don't want to repeat mistakes others made.
They seem alright, but you feel like there might some better methods. Maybe something non-traditional. Hm.

Well, the good news is that you can't see any security measures on the roof itself and you think a zipline might be possible as a method of getting onto it. The bad news is that the bank has a rather ornate roof, all gables and spires. The result of which is that the roof slopes downward at a harsh and dangerous angle. The sort of slope that would be very easy to fall off of.

No one lists the bank as their customer, probably for exactly this reason. Also, I'm not sure what criteria you want to use for selecting the "most likely" one. There's dozens of big security companies and hundreds of small ones. What makes one more likely to be the one they use?

You search through robberies of branches of this bank but they're all very vague. None of them say which branch was robbed or the methods the robbers used. There's security images of a few but they all seem to be trying the old mask and gun routine.

Thaddeus looks at Ulrich:"Ditch the escape vehicle and have another vehicle already in place for us, that could work.", before turning to D'usse: "Hey whatever works is fine by me. We should be able to text on cellphones though, right?"

You're on the wrong side of the mystery building to see anyone going in or out. You're looking at its back.

You keep an eye on the bank but the only people you see entering and exiting multiple times are bank employees smoking in the alley. They're out there every 2 hours like clock work.

Switch the TV to porn, turn the volume down.

See if we have any tools or improvised weapons in our apartment, particularly in the kitchen and broom closet, if we have one.

You switch the tv over to scramblevision and then look around. This place was empty when you came in, remember? No kitchen knives, no mop handles to sharpen, nothing easily improvised as a weapon, unless you want to hit someone with a microwave.

"Hey boss? I had an idea on what to do after we pull the heist. do any of our fronts give access to camping equipment?"

You don't know, you didn't go over there.

The blueprints show that the bank gets power off the normal municipal grid for most of its stuff, but that it has some sort of independent power for certain things, namely the vault and safety deposit boxes and the servers on the second floor.

You begin cookie clicking.

Or perhaps this

This game has a...reputation.

Steel is easy. The sewer to vault wall is harder though, since you can't find any hard info about the material of the sewer walls or the rock behind them. But, I can tell you that you'd be tunneling through 25, 30 feet of solid bedrock to get to it. Which, even for a small tunnel, is a hell of a lot of rock.

Hmm, let's try most reputable local one. Second criteria would be based on relative repution and size. For example, if the bank's reputation is 9 on scale 1 to 10 (when compared to other banks), then look for company that have same relative reputation on their own field. Let's gather more hints before continuing on that track.

Focus on the police instead. How far away from the bank are police stations, and how long it would take for them to reach the bank during noon and night?
What kind weapons, tools and protective gear they seem to be using?

"So, what else are we trying to figure out?"

Skylar barely glances up as he continues to make notes on the blueprints.

Well, tomorrow I'd like to figure out their procedures for the Safety Deposit boxes. What's allowed, what isn't, how searched are they, how do items get to the box, do box owners end up in the storage room... that sort of thing. If we can get them to let us into the Safety Deposit room, we can make plans based on starting inside the building. If we can get items into the Deposit room somewhat unrestricted, we could use them to get equipment into that room that we might not want to bring with us, or something to sabotage the bank's security systems before we get there.

We also need to know more about their day-shift security. Shift changes, active alarms, times the vault will be open, the works. We could also use some plans for insider access. Contract work, janitorial staff, whatever. Insider access could make this quick and clean. We need the same for the night shift, but we still have the night ahead of us to watch.

And... we have to find out more about that shielded building. Don't be too obvious. Until we know more, we don't want whoever is in there to know we've seen them. It could be criminal, or it could be UWM. One of these we can work with. The other we need to avoid like the plague... If we can't find anything without revealing ourselves, we may just have to continue with the heist and hope.

More Blueprint examination:
Is the source of the independent power indicated?
Are network cables indicated on the blueprint? If so, how many isolated networks are there, and how close to the outside wall do any of them have cables?

Do we have specs on the security systems? Vault door, Safety Deposit box doors and containers, cameras, etc?

Hmm, that's probably all I'll be able to do just from here. I need an excuse to get inside.

Check to see if the bank's corporate headquarters is on a public network, and cautiously probe the security of that network if so, taking steps to foil any backtrace if something goes wrong.
