Well, my avatar both here and on other social network now is pro-Scottish. BTW,  what's your opinion on the Royal Standard vs. the Saltire?

Tiocfaidh ár lá! Oh... wait... damnit... this was about scotland...

On a serious note, going to bed now and I hope to see an independent scotland when I wake up. Not because I have any personal stake in the business, but because I would be something interesting happening in world politics that isn't all fucking doom and gloom.

As a citizen of a part of Italy wich would benefit from a less centralized government (not full-blown independence, but a strong shift toward some form of federalism), I support an independent Scotland.

Wishing you the best of luck in any case.

Indeed. An independent Scotland is merely Phase One for the Glorious People's Republic of Carolina, as well.
(Also, I'm thinking the Highland Games at Grandfather Mountain will be hella rowdy next summer if the Yes camp wins.)

My heart says yes, my head says no.

Whichever way it goes, interesting times are ahead.

Good question. I think the Scottish Monarchy is dead no matter what, so I don't see any problem in the common folk reclaiming it as a symbol because it looks so good. I tend to show the Saltire over the Royal Standard but I think both flags are great.

Okay, so I'm getting more excited over this than I was over our own government election last weekend :D

Ah, so this is why I had to endure some faint bagpipe music at work for one hour.

There is no such thing as faint bagpipe music, only bagpipes very far away.

I'm reminded of a certain few scenes in The Longest Day.

Polling booths are closed. Counting starts. Are you even going to sleep, Owlbread?

I don't know yet. I am thinking I may lie in my bed and stare at the ceiling, because if I tried to stay up throughout the count I think I'll end up having a heart attack with stress and anticipation.

Seems like there's plenty of time to sleep. Earliest results aren't even expected until tomorrow afternoon unless I'm mistaken.
