Aaah. Gh. Looking back through some conversation records (text and the like) during one of the rare moments when I'm relatively nonaffected by my emotional compromise reveals that I've been even more badly influenced than I suspected I was. I can remember typing what I did - nothing incriminating, though it's getting to the point where it's toeing the metaphorical line in places - and while I can vaguely recall the reasons my hormone-muddled brain decided to say what it did, I don't comprehend them.

Thus cringing.

I have momentary relative clarity into how close I'm drifting to a social minefield and it terrifies me. Thus I will seek the temporary oblivion of sleep and consign this memory to the void of my subconscious. It'll probably bite me in the ass later with all the other ones.

I'm cringing at that which one is not aware about and still continues...not because it's their intent, but that they're completely or mostly unaware of how their actions affect their surroundings (social or otherwise). Or...that's how I was, before I began understanding how that works. Still do at times. .-.

Had an elderly woman come in today. As soon as she opened her mouth to blab out her order I was immediately overcome by the smell of her rotten mouth. It was agony. Almost as bad as the vomit I had to clean up yesterday.

Was delivering newspapers, and a little Chihuahua was barking at me from this old ladies' porch. Now last time this dog was out it was biting at my ankles and got my pant legs, so when she says "he doesn't bite, he's just a barker" I know its just as much bullshit as every other time anyone else has said that in all of history.
So, predictably, dog bites at my ankles again today. Now this doesn't really bother me much, its actually kinda cute because I can scare him off just by raising my foot a bit.

Cue old lady getting her big ass sunday paper and FUCKING SLAPPING THE DOG WITH IT. And I don't mean a light tap either. The poor little pooch literally slammed into the wall from the blow.
AND THEN SHE DID IT AGAIN WHEN HE WAS IN THE HOUSE.

WTF LADY? THAT PAPER WEIGHS MORE THEN THAT FUCKING DOG DOES. THAT'S LIKE ME SLAMMING MY VAN INTO YOU.

I really wish I could report this or something, but we tried that with the dogs a few doors down when their owner left them there after getting the house repo'd and leaving them to starve/be eaten by fleas/etc. and nothing was done whatsoever. Plus I would probably lose my job because they're total asshats like that and have threatened such action before when we just asked a customer to salt the ice in their drive and said customer complained.

So yeah. Just so much ugh.

I can't complain about the company name (not quite as direct as above, but not far off), but:

• Subtitled mottoes in quotes.  Almost as bad as putting "The management thanks you for not smoking" - including quotes! - below a no-smoking symbol.
• Having something as direct as that as a motto in the first place.  At the very least go for something like "Our expertise is in tents!" - subtitled without quotes! - as my own totally made up alternative to suit the above example.

...both made me cringe.

But then so do misplaced apostrophes, which probably already tells you the kind of person I am.
