At the very least we should inquire about food, since that's just as necessary for us to not die as not killing animals. And when we do ask later we should inquire about whats "off limits" since everything in the forest that can have a spirit can put a hit out on us.
Try to coddle the rabbit, ask it if its hungry or something. Barring that make sure the rabbit is safe from predators and get some sleep.

You decide to abide by the ladies demands. You do however, have thoughts of telling her to take a hike still...

You try to feed the rabbit it's old brethren since you have no other food but it doesn't seem to want any. Just staring into the food bowl in front of it. You also have no water since you used up your reserves on the soup the rabbit's not eating.

Finally you decide to use a rag to wrap up the rabbit gently and go to sleep on your bed.

...In the morning...

You are awakened by knocks on the door are feeling groggy from not eating well. The rabbit is still inside your makeshift blanket and you try to get out of bed...but instead fall nose first on the floor. You hear a giggle on the other side of the door and pause in the knocking.
