You exit the building and the large group of scouts meet you in the square.
The commander of the scouts looks at castle,"We found several buildings that would work for initial safe houses. I need to ask you though, what is more important for you? A well defended house, a house with large storage, a house with good living quarters, or a house like the cafe that has a bit of all?"

You awaken with your knife in hand and head laying on your duffle bag. Small glimmers of light shine through the vines growing over the cave entrance.
The cave is cool and you can hear the familiar stream trickling inside.

Kyle stops and slowly starts moving out of the light. His eyes should be adjusted already so he can see who or what's disturbing him from his place.

"We need good defences. We don't have a lot of supplies to store and we're not a bunch of prissy little princesses that need to lie in Persian quilt mattresses just to get through the day."

Kyle stops and slowly starts moving out of the light. His eyes should be adjusted already so he can see who or what's disturbing him from his place.

You can't see past the vines (they are thick vines with a couple of small bits where light is getting through)

"Your call I suppose, the scouts and I are gone in a week. There is a nice town hall that has plenty of storage and the rooms are almost built in layers. Also seems like they used to be occupied and fortified so there is plenty of good defencive stuff. Just no sleeping areas.
We only checked possible safe houses and ran into one zed so these other buildings have a chance of holding them too"

Kyle waits a couple of moments to see if it's going to come in, if it doesn't he slowly approaches the vines ready to stab whatever is on the other side.

"Alright then. See if you can get some of your scouts to clear some space in the town hall and drag in some beds from these houses. The rest, go into buildings and clear out the zombies. Me and my boys will do the same." Castle goes off as a single unit to kill zombies.

Nothing happens
You although the vines and slowly part them to look out with your knife at the ready.
Only feet away stands a large wolf about the size of an Irish wolf hound with the build of a malamute

The younger scouts begin retrieving beds, the middle adged scouts start clearing a couple buildings adjacent to the town hall, the older scouts begin clearing the insides of the hall.
Castle goes across the street to the bank.
Inside there are a couple zed behind the counter and the vault door is open.
