(Why does this seem to be bait for me to activate the Ouroboros's desperation effect?  I'm serious, all it would take at this point is Bowtie to get caught from behind by a fourth, and it would go active.)

(Ninja'd)

Back home, this probably would have HugoLuman rolling on the ground or passed out, but here the mangled fingers were just an incredible inconvenience. HugoLuman drops his spear and dives for the scepter, scooping it up in his left hand. Without the other grip, he can't strike very hard without similar results to Arc, but with two good legs and the thing focused on Arc, he manages to jam the scepter's handle into the gears on its back. Unlike the wooden stick, it holds under the pressure, and the entire machine seizes up and stops moving.

After only a few seconds, a few large gears pop out from the pressure and the entire thing collapses to the floor. "How many of these things are there? I can barely see anything in here!" He yanks the scepter out and tries, painfully, holding it with both hands. "Mind if I borrow this? It might be safer if you stayed down for now."

(If I remember right, the vote wound up as realistic, so it would get you rolling on the ground.)

SB pauses briefly to examine the automatons, a.k.a. requiring the one thing other players can't decide when dealing with baddies.

(But there is also pain numbing, as established before. So, it's still very painful, but not enough to drop me in the middle of battle)

Clockwork Room Cleared!

Once the third[and last!] automaton collapses, the steam clears, as if by magic. It reveals a pedestal on the far side of the room with a softly glowing bronze amulet in the shape of a gear. The other walls of the room all contain doors, probably leading onwards. The ceiling is a vast ticking mass of clockwork, but doesn't seem to be animate.

**Looks like that's all of them. Can I have my scepter back now?**

Zanzetkuken heard her device go off.  Out of the abilities, she chose the active, "Drain", which, upon activation after a stealth kill, would partially heal her at the cost of being 'seen' by the whole of the room.

"Huh. I expected this room to be more like the Dwemer ruins from Skyrim, you know?"
"Fortunately not." He winces as the adrenaline winds down, dropping the scepter. "Yeah, all yours," he says, squeezing the wounded hand and grimacing. The fingers, hanging on by a shred, fall off. "Oh god... Arc, don't heal this."

**Let's hope the werewolf cure guy also does fingers. We might want to keep them, just in case he or someone else can reattach them.**

"Magical Physician, his sign said. Though I probably should have asked him how much he charged..." Looking a bit sick at the sight of his own severed fingers, HugoLuman walks towards the exit. "Be right back." He crosses the chessboard and the knight room, holding his wounded hand tightly, and slides down the banister. The robes of the cultists seemed of sturdy fabric, but their trousers were of something lighter. He tore off a strip with his left hand and ran back to the others. "Can someone help me tie this?"
