HugoLuman feels a low uneasiness as the shapes get closer. "Yeah, they're setting off the danger sense. Zanz, you should do your thing before they see you."

[Arcvasti]

Arcvasti holds out his hand towards Zanz and uses Aid to boost her Ambush[Or whatever its called] ability.

[SOLDIER First]

"Think the bonus still applies if you use a gun?"

[WillowLuman]

"I'll distract them, you take them out." HugoLuman runs around to the side of the approaching figures, spear raised apprehensively, to see what they were dealing with.

[Arcvasti]

The figures are vaguely humanoid masses of gears and other clockwork parts. Their arms and legs are different lengths. They mostly seem unarmed, but sharp looking gears spin where hands should be.

[Zanzetkuken The Great]

"Yeah, it does." Zanzetkuken said in response to Bowtie's question.  She raised her rifle, and the ability felt like it was drawing her fire to one point, but when Arc used his ability, it drew her fire to another point.  Curiously, it appeared to be a wall, but she decided to trust it.  She pulled the trigger, and the bullet ricocheted to one of the more distant shapes.  A few seconds later, it detonated, and took out one of the ones next to it as well.

"Looks like boosting it allows for a double kill point," she says, as a feeling cuts itself off.  With a fair amount of fear, she said, "They see us.  I don't feel it anymore, and if they didn't, the ability would still be active."

[WillowLuman]

After the ringing in his ears dissipated, HugoLuman looked at the rather nasty piece of metal embedded in the haft of his spear, realizing it would have flown right into his chest. "Watch the shrapnel!"

He was suddenly aware of something attacking from behind, and barely ducked out of the way of a buzz-saw punch. The thing seemed pretty slow, so he took the opportunity to jam the butt of the spear into the exposed mechanisms on the torso, but the gears strained only for a moment before splintering the end of the stick. "SB, a little help over here!"

The automaton, recovering, made a move to cut his spear in half as he pulled it free, but caught him in the right hand instead, mangling two of his fingers. "FUCK!"

[SOLDIER First]

SB charges into the room, towards Hugo, bringing the ax up and over his head. He brings it down onto the automaton, but the strike is skewed slightly; instead of chopping it in half as SB had wanted, one of its limbs is smashed to pieces. The ax continues into the floor, slamming powerfully and almost wrenching itself out of SB's hands.
 "Fuck! Fucking hell, fighting hurts! I didn't even get hit!"

[WillowLuman]

HugoLuman clasps his bleeding hand and steps away from the automaton. "Tell me about it. AND LOOKOUT!" The machine recovers from the crippling blow and lurches towards SB.

[McDonald]

McDonald gives Iton a blank stare.

"What are you even talking about...? Anyways, I would check out that scream. Somebody, maybe a player, might be hurt and these marines look like they can fend for themselves."

[SOLDIER First]

SB has just enough time to dodge directly into another robot's sawblade before the machine catches him. He comes at the robot again, swinging horizontally towards its midsection.

[McDonald]

((BTW, SB, how old are you? Your personal text keeps bugging me.))

[Arcvasti]

Arcvasti looks on in through the doorway, feeling helpless. He doesn't dare heal Hugo, knowing his body is already weakened from healing the cat-lady. And his Aid spell is already spent for this room. But there is ONE thing he CAN do. Arcvasti hobbles into the room and tries to stick the bottom end of his scepter into one of the gears of the thing fighting SB. The automation turns just in time and blocks the scepter with its remaining gear-hand, spinning it out of Arcvasti's grip in the process. Without a crutch, Arcvasti's leg buckles and he falls to the ground.

[SOLDIER First]
