The man laughs.

"As dead as me? I took a knife in the ribs, got shredded by some Balkan with an AK, took a point blank explosion from 10, 10 bloody pounds of Semtex, and I am, I'd assume, currently buried under the Harz power plant. It would explain this."

The soldier points at his mask.

"Nuclear fallout."

"At least you got to live your life, better than having your universe freeze in time."
"now theres something ive gotta see"

"I got torn into pieces by horses once."
"once how many times have you died"?
"A lot."

The soldier props his head up on the bar, and grabs his glass of scotch, drinking it all in a second. He shakes his head a few times, and smiles at the bartender.

"Damn fine scotch, barkeep."

He then pulls out a cigarette, and fumbles around in his pocket for a second, before laughing.

"Damn "rescue crew" probably took my lighter, too."

The soldier sticks the cigarette in his mouth, and looks around in his ruined vest, eventually finding his knife harness. He takes it, and walks over to a nearby fireplace, hitting it on the fireplace until he gets a spark, lighting his cigarette.

"I assume you don't mind letting the dead man smoke?"

Nothing is out of character here. It is the intersection of all consciousness.

(Actually, there is out of character.  However, it has to be specified by parenthesis)

I didn't really understand why I died until I discovered I was teleporting my own spine into my enemies' body as a primary way of attack.

Facepalming to himself as he listens to the many, many war stories being traded around, the dusty man mutters out loud:
"Am I the only one here who -hasn't- died?"

Deceer raises his hand.

* Abruptly, whatever tuypo1's character was crumbles into dust and blows into the wind

The wizard steps out of the shadows.

"That's taken care of."

((I don't like suspending disbelief, ahaha.))
