In case you don't know what this is about, Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup is having another one of its online tournaments. The way it works is you play on one of their online servers, either solo or as a team and at the end of the tourney we get to see cool leaderboards based on how well you and us did.

Team Registration runs from Now to Sep 6th, 19:00 UTC.

The tournament proper runs from Aug 29th, 20:00 UTC to Sept 14th, 20:00 UTC.

Please note that joining a team can only help that team. To join a team post your Crawl username and experience level in this topic, then check back periodically for your team captain and, if you have one, a preferred team (though please try to stick roughly to your skill level if you request a team). Else you'll be assigned a team based on skill level.

There can only be six players in a team, so there's usually been a few Bay12 teams named in a dwarven fashion.

So if you're interested post here and tell us how experienced you are. We try to group people to roughly match their skill level, but it's not too specific. Last time we used this specific criteria:
Expert: Win or multiple runes.
Advanced: A rune or close to one.
Intermediate: Reached the Lair
Beginner: Wants to join the Tournament

I've won two games before, one way back in 0.9 (KoBe) and one during the last tournament (FoAK). I don't consider myself to be a super-skilled player though, and I haven't played the game seriously for several months, so I think I'll be in the Advanced team again.

I'd rather not be the Team Captain. I'm not that great; though I reach Lair fairly frequently, I generally die before getting a rune.

I did manage to get the swamp rune once, though.

Hopefully I'll be as absurdly lucky during the tournament as I was last run. Getting the +9/+9 Armour of the Dragon King on Lair:1 was fun, though getting Abyssed in Swamp by a random spriggan with a distortion weapon was not.
