Looking at all the Reddit Gold people are giving each other while circlejerking over this, I'm pretty sure Reddit has made more money off this controversy than she has at this point.

I thought her game was free, meaning she was probably hoping for attention/popularity rather than money.

Most game studios have ran out of ideas, EA pay major gaming outlets, practically no one except toady had one fresh idea in the last ten years, but a game called "depression quest" is causing the fall of videogames because it got great reviews?

First explain me how you can possibly fooled by "depression quest". You know right from the start that it's a pretentious hypster game about depression, right? What else can it be? How can a game reviewer fool you about this? They made you think this game was the future of RTS?

Now this scream "manufactured shitstorm", we've seen this a lot in the past, but you're the fool for buying into it. So, yes. She is making money off this, despite the game being ostensibly free.

I haven't read the whole thread, but I read the OP and I know the story.

Werty, your first post assumes that video game "journalism" hasn't been corrupt for years. In fact, almost none of the people in video game "journalism" have anything resembling journalistic experience, or a degree in journalism (let alone journalistic integrity). Also, it's been a well known fact for a few years that certain review outlets take kickbacks from publishers, and are "incentivized" not to publish stories criticizing their games. Does anyone remember that little shitstorm with that guy who formed GB and the "undeserved" bad review he wrote of Kane and Lynch 2 back when he was at GS?

That's not even the problem anymore; the issue is all these arguabily reputable outlets furiously curbing any mention of the mess.
Hell, now TB is credited for inadvertently creating the greatest post graveyard on Reddit, with tens of thousands of purged posts.

Are you? Reddit especially has a finely honed hate machine/harassment mob among their subs that seems to exist solely to get outraged at people, usually for nonexistent slights, especially women. It's mostly made of rascists, sexists, entitled pricks and general purpose bigots, but there are plenty of people involved who just really like harassing folks in general and the seething rage makes a convenient excuse to be horrible human beings.

And it's fun to see them sputter, so I'm probably got give some money to this lady solely for that reason alone. :V
