"Multiple loads.......to do that I'd need a cartridge, which I don't know how to engineer or make."

"'kay, here's how it goes. You have bullets with 'skirts' that are open at the rear, you have 'em loaded in a line in the back of the barrel. Selectively fire the one in front, the blast shoves the ones back so that the skirt and fronts seal that shit, so that there's no blowback to set off the other ones and fuck it all up. Less moving parts, fire real damn quickly.

No need for cartridges, they'd be nice, but the earliest ones are just powder-ball-powder-ball-powder-ball-powder-ball."

"Sounds logical.....but how do you know about this?"

"I don't know. I just.....generate them from nowhere.

Also, revolvers are easier, but I am more familiar with the inner workings of a musket."
