"Perhaps the staff are already planning to intervene."

"Sure as hell hope so; ya think he actually killed a god? I mean, that god would to be a pretty shit excuse for a god of, well, whatever the hell they were a god of."

"If the rumors are true, the Layar threat was ended in the same town they killed Izanami, also a god. Perhaps gods are not as strong as they supposedly are."

Madi spots Medea looking the slightest of ways at her, but dismisses it. She goes and signs up for Dorm F, going and setting up her things around her bed.

Maybe... maybe... oh fucking hell, why can't the world have just stayed where it was... without this alien bullshit, where the only god I really had to give two fucks about was the big G, and I didn't have to figure out how the fuck to use circle geometry to do anything other than fucking maths. Now here I am, reading something that I fucking swear looks like it was written by some junkie during a smack overdose."

Shiro gets up, and goes into the common room to see if anyone was there.

He sits next to Madea.

"yo. How are you all?" Shiro chuckles creepily

Sighing as he snaps out of his reverie-turned-monologue, Louis stares into Mitsuru's eyes, for once, he wasn't surveying his surroundings. Though his face still remained akin to a porcelain sculpture, the expression that stained it made him seem quite old. It was the same expression that one may expect would be carried by bitter forty-year old middle managers half-way into their second marriages as they reflected upon expired dreams. "Tell me... you were there right? On the front lines? What happened? Why did we win? Because, really, I don't see why we aren't all just lying in a fucking ditch in some godforsaken hellhole. Why did we win? It just doesn't make any fucking sense. They knew more 'bout magic, they had better tech, we didn't even know they existed. So how the hell did we win?"
He sighs once more, rubbing invisible tears out of his weary eyes, filled more with irritation than sorrow. "Right now, I feel like humans were just pawns in something run by godknowswhat godknowswhere for some fucked up purpose none of us understands. How important would are we? Where are we? Opening? Endgame? Are we meant to have done shit? Or are we just 'bout to get sacrificed? Bloody hell... why couldn't I have just gone on with stealin' shit and giving a crap?"

Mitsuru just gives him a hug. "I understand. I felt like that, once."

"Oh? So what happened then? How d'ya make that a thing of the past?"

"It's over. What happened, happened. I don't see a point in crying over the past, only looking forward to what is coming.

And I believe that what will happen isn't all bad. Perhaps it could be good."
"Fine." She says that without any hint of emotion.
