Danetki - a guessing game thread
« on: August 17, 2014, 04:10:02 pm »

Here's how this thing works. I describe an ambigious or confusing situation, then you have to ask me questions about it until you reconstruct it and guess what transpired. I can only answer "yes" or "no" to your questions (or "eh, irrelevant" if I'm feeling kind). For example:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

If somebody has riddles of their own, you're welcome. It's just that I don't know if you guys have games like this where you're from, and they're rather popular over here, so I know like, twenty of those things.

A warning: please remember that I'm describing a specific situation. I mean, yeah, the diver in the above example could have climbed the tree by himself and then had a heart attack or something. He didn't, cuz I say so. I'm not looking for a list of ways this could have happened - each riddle has a specific solution. Not trying to be anal, it's just that my friends often forget about this.

Okay, let's start.

A woman buys new shoes. Then she dies. How come?

Was her death deliberate, which is to say a planned or intended consequence of an act?

Were the shoes directly involved in her death?
Unsure if I understand the question correctly, but no, the shoes weren't jammed into her jugular or something. They were the main reason she died, though.
Were the shoes somehow toxic?
Nah.

Is there something special about these specific shoes not including price.

Are the shoes shiny.

Well, yeah. They're a specific...say, type of shoe.
Are the shoes shiny.
Maybe. Irrelevant.

Does her death involve blunt force trauma?

Did the death involve an outside organism.

Did wearing the shoes put her into a position to be killed?

Were the shoes living?

Are they actual shoes?

Is the situation we are trying to guess a more or less eloquent pun?
