Hmph, palu showing off that reading-the-instructions superpower.
The internet encourages thoughtful, intelligent discussion and if you disagree I hate you.

Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

I copied that line from the start page during .34's bugfix cycle, its just so obscure something like that wouldn't get noticed, let alone fixed in another game.

the Planepacked bug has always been something I've liked a lot. Made me imagine a mooded dwarf forever going "Just one more decoration... and maybe some spikes.... and some rings... and a picture... and one more decoration... maybe some spikes... and some rings... and a picture... one more decoration..." Until someone slaps him/her out of it for making a hyperdense artifact that's eaten up something like half the fortresses' valuable resources.

0007764: After town insurrection, all shops become taverns
FTFY
It's amusing the first or second time it happens, but after that, it just becomes annoying.
In this case, the link he posted was borked, so I literally did fix it for him.

Fakeedit: Wait, did you mean "FTFY" or the bug itself?

I meant the bug itself.

Having some random town drunk also be a high standing and important noble.

My favorite was this throwaway line from Toady during the development of the v0.34.x release:

Quote from: Toady
06/05/2011

In bug news, the zombies in a necromancer's tower became suspicious after the necromancer failed to age and he fled into the hills.

Toady had added code so that people in villages might become suspicious if any villagers failed to age, since that meant it was likely that they were a vampire.  However, the same code was apparently used in necromancer towers as well, thus hilarity ensues.

Zombie 1: "Brainsss...."
Zombie 2: "Yes, brains indeed.  However, have you noticed something odd about the necromancer?"
Zombie 1: "Br- I mean, uh... like what?"
Zombie 2: "Well, I've been shambling around here for quite a while now, and he still looks like he did several decades ago."
Zombie 1: "Bra- er, um... yeah, now that you mention it, I see it too."
Zombie 2: "You know what that means don't you?"
Zombie 1 & 2 together: "Oh my Armok!  Our necromancer is a vampire!!!"
Zombie 2: "OK, let's get the guys and run him out of this tower!"

Cue Yakety Sax music.

I was very fond of the egg layer bugs a few versions ago that led to things like iron thrones ending up in nest boxes, or wild gators and the like pathing into your fort looking to lay their eggs.

I find all of the understated reactions quite funny. I killed someone's housemate and they became "a little angry" about it. I cut someone's leg off and they were "suspicious" of something illicit happening.

Ask someone about recent events:
-Lets see... we had the occupation.
-Tell me more about the occupation.
-I know nothing about that!

Fighting with someone:
-Lets stop this pointless fighting!
-I will fight no more.
-Goodbye.
[Fires a bolt at me]
-Goodbye.

1: We were attacked by this thing and you should go kill it.
2: Great! Where is it?
1: I don't know, but so-and-so might.
2: Great! Where is so-and-so?
1: I don't know, and I don't know anyone who could tell you.

1: Five seconds ago, you killed my housemate.
