Right. Battling. Hopefully this thing would listen to what it was told... Truth be told, this Treecko looked a bit underwhelming to Anette. It was so... Tiny and harmless looking. Reaching down to give it a tentative pat on the head, began to whisper instructions to it. "Right. See that Mudkip over there?" she asked, pointing to where it lies, "Well, it, uh, stole our food! So, um, go hit it as hard as you can? Please?"

Staring at her Pokémon, Anette barely resists the urge to punch herself for being so stupid. That was not only idiotic, but entirely unconvincing. Well, next time, she assures herself, she would do better with giving directions to... Right. It needed a name, but that could come later.

Kira stares down the Bellsprout. "...So.. I guess... I... Shoot. How does this go again?" Birch looked at her curiously. Bah, this would never do. How she supposed to know how to give commands when... Oh right! Kira pulls out her Pokedex and quickly gives Birch a scan. If she remembered correctly, she was able to check upon a few basic commands and a few other tidbits by accessing the Pokedex. The Pokedex mercifully listed off the commands for her. Tackle, Growl, and Quick Attack. Perfect.

"A-alright! Here we go I guess. Uh... Birch. Could you close the gap a little bit?"

Search around for a pokemon I can actually deal damage to.

Johnathan: What. You're just going to abandon it in a stupor, out in the open where something could eat it? 'kay.

Bjorn runs into a Pidgey that eyes him fearfully.

Kira gets Birch in there and is no longer in danger of being killed by a bellsprout. I still have no clue what move you intend to use.

Annette's Treecko misses. Badly.

The Wurmple makes some sort of smiling-type indication of affection and gladly scoots closer.

Carefully rouse the Zigzagoon first, trying to avoid any chance of it biting me. Don't want to get pokerabies, after all.

Actually, you know what? Just try to catch the thing.

...This thing is just as underwhelming as she her initial observations made her expect. Deciding that she'd find someone to help the Pokémon learn what to do later if possible, she abandons all hope of sneakily capturing this Mudkip, opting to shout her orders clearly!
"Once again, try to hit it!"

"Kira, I swear, I will not let your damn ideals get in the way of my goal.

Grond! Move in and tackle!

Using the spikes on its rear end, Wurmple peels the bark off trees and feeds on the sap that oozes out. This Pokémon's feet are tipped with suction pads that allow it to cling to glass without slipping.
