Kyle unlike the rest starts calmly walking through the swamp staying on trails when possible so as to not disturb the wildlife.

Jonathan, with little else to do, follows Kyle, keeping an eye out for any wild pokemon that might ambush them.

Alright! I'm going to start finding those...

""Coming with me then, Kira?"

Her head turned quickly in surprise, her arm caught while taking it out of her jacket. "Oh... Uh... Yeah. I guess I can..."

She slipped the jacketed back on completely and gazed one last wistful gaze at the swampy bits before joining Bjorn on the highground. Oh well. Perhaps it would be better this way anyways. Too many trainers spoil the occasion and scare off the Pokémon, and really this was mostly for Kyle's sake anyways. She would let him have the fun. Kira jogged over to Bjorn, not saying anything just yet.

Rather, she first checked her Pokeball. Birch probably needed a bit of exercise. Kira gave him a quick once over. ((Use Intuition to check his demeanor!))

Whether it was positive or not, she still needed to let him out. Whatever the results of the check are, Kira releases Birch. Beyond that, she tries to keep an eye out for Berries, her eyes scanning the marshes below for good plants and lost items.

Bjorn waits until the others are gone before Bjorm says something quietly to Kira

"Sorry about having you split off. I'm not a fan of water, and neither is Grond. Funny story about that actually. All you need to know is that I'm not fond of water because... Err... I can't swim... And Grond sinks like a brick, being plated in metal and all. Don't tell the others..."

Bjorn turns a little pink at admitting he's probably the only one in this group who can't swim. He notices the Starly as Kira lets the thing come out.

"So that's why you had a starly entry in your dex. Well, let's get started. Hopefully we can find the others again after we take a good look around."

Horrobly attempt to stealth about, looking for pokemon. Hopefully, something already in combat with other pokemon in the wild so we don't have to weaken it so much.

"So...I heard you came from the city?", Jonathan asks awkwardly.

Kyle nods.
"Yeah, I did."
He's quieter than normal.

"What's it like there, if you don't mind me asking?"

Kyle thinks a little.
"It was... bigger. More people, more buildings, more things... more everything. It had different pokemon as well. Let's see... Oh! It was easier to get things there. And it had it's own gym but I forget who's it was..."

Stretching her arms past the back of her head, Kira smiled. "Yeah... I sort of figured you weren't much for swimming. It's a bit amazing how few people actually come out here to learn how. I suppose that most people visit the beach north of town. It's a bit too muddy here for some people."

However, she has to frown a little bit when the conversation comes to Birch. Kira was still busy trying to figure out how he would react now that he was released. But Bjorn did a good job in distracting her. Kira chuckled. "You do realize we're up on the high ground, right? If you wanted to find any Pokémon, you'd have to start looking down on the mudflats. It's a little area between the deeper bits of the marsh and the high ground up here. If I had to make a guess, they'd be cooling off around there this time of day. They wouldn't be up here frying about."

"You did say your dad was a ranger, so you would know more in this case.

Ill go near the edge on two conditions:

1) if there are any water types, your starly will have to handle them
2) if we wound one too much, we catch it; I don't want wild pokemon dying of wounds because of us.

You're the child of a ranger after all, so it wouldn't be much to ask now, would it?"

Well, this certainly wasn't working - nary a Pokémon had Anette seen! Maybe... She was scaring all of them away plodding about recklessly as she was? Probably so, and as good a guess as any. After taking a moment to ensure her nets and Pokéballs were secured, she begins sneaking about in the marsh, searching for prey.

Kira waved her hand dismissively.

"On those conditions... I'll pass. You can go down to the swamps if you want, but I think I may just stay up here. I have to find some berries for the trip and I'm not interested in picking a fight with any Pokémon."

"I'll head on ahead then. Don't go too far out in case something happens."

Bjorn keeps to the edge, sneaking as he goes

Kira: Your Starly seems rather neutral at the moment. Birch is mostly ignoring you and poking about on the ground. You don't spot any berries or lost items in the immediate vicinity.

Bjorn, Anette, Kyle, and Johnathan: Bjorn spots a Bellsprout poking around at a bush around 15 meters away. Anette looks around, and spots her intended target: a Mudkip, which is leisurely taking a stroll near a pond about 10 or 15 meters away. Johnathan takes note of a Zigzagoon, seemingly checking bushes around 10 meters away for berries. Kyle uneasily takes note of a Pidgey, which is warily eyeing you and Johnathan from atop a nearby tree.

Man, this place is crawling with Pokémon.

Kyle looks a bit worried and looks away from the Pidgey. He is not all that fond of bird pokemon.
