((Pretty much all I'm going to do this battle. I'm gonna try and treat this like a league battle so Jonathan has a taste of what competitive battling is))

((Grond has sturdy and remains up with 1hp. I'm also fairly certain Grond didn't take that much. 1d6+5 (base is 2) so 2+2(STAB)+1d6+5(average=11)+5(Shub's attack stat)-16(Grond's defence, and looking at the chart, I SWORE that Steel resisted ghost...) = 20->25 - 16 = 4->9. There is no way Gastly can 1-hitKO Grond.

And due to sleep ruling, Grond awakes and uses harden and his defence increases to... 20))

Lick shouldn't be doing nearly that much damage. With STAB included, Lick should have a maximum base attack of 3 for Shub, which is 1d6+5 damage. You then add my paltry attack stat to the damage, and reduce the rolled damage by Grond's (now increased) defense. I haven't done the math or checked stats, but I'm pretty sure that Lick can't one-shot a hardened Aron.
What's more is that unless Arons have an extremely low HP stat and I don't remember it, he should have considerably more than 27 health. Hell, Shub has about 40, and if memory serves, Arons are harder to get than Gastly is.
