((Room for one more?))

I'll let you slip in just in time. I was going to institute the Reserve List next turn.

So, after Samarkand, anyone else who wants to join will be put on the Reserve List, where they will wait until another Character is dead or gone permanently in some other regard before they join.

Don't worry folks, considering medical care of the era, i will probably die a slow and painful death soon!

Oh yeah KJ, about what you stated earlier, something like "Bleeding out from the stomach takes hours, so it's alright." While that may be true, other factors have to be considered in the situation: The exact placement of the wound, (the players know it's in the general stomach area, but not more precisely than that) the caliber of the shot, (a rifle bullet being big than a handgun, for starters) and the penetration (as the rifle bullet has not only pierced the stomach, but various arteries and tissues surrounding it). Most of the time, when someone suffers a wound from a weapon at a [9 VS. 3] percentage, you can go ahead and assume you're dealing with something pretty damn serious. Just a heads up.

((And it's not "alright" because there's probably no doctor who could fix a bad gut-wound anyway. :P))

Jonah can't help but chuckle some more at the bizarre stories he's hearing.
"Well hot damn, looks like I wandered into a madhouse 'stead of a town."

Enter the saloon and buy myself a glass of whiskey. Sip it and watch the goings-on from a table near the edge of the room.

Go shoot the guy who shot my token minority!
Try not to bleed out, cover wound with grain bag for pressure and protection.
Use my rifle to shoot through the crate.

Stamping Feet, having suffered a grave stomach wound, looks around him for a device to stop the bleeding. His attention turns towards a thick bag of grains next to him. [7] Stamping pulls the bag behind the crate in front of him and presses the material to the effected area. The bag's material turns red as it absorbs and slows down the flow from his wound. He's still bleeding a little bit, but in this position it would take a while before the blood-loss became lethal.

While Stamping manages to retard the bleeding-out process, Starn Gundar raises his rifle to shoot another round into the wagon, through the crate where he saw his target run through. At the same time, The Shadow dashes around the corner with his Shotgun.

[Initiatives:
Starn Gundar - 10
The Shadow - 3]

Before the Shadow can even lift his gun to shoulder-level, Starn's rifle goes off. [8+1 VS. 5] Just as Stamping Feet manages to deal with one wound, another bullet goes manages to go through his cover and go right through his Right Shoulder, tearing through muscle and bone. This shot drives Stamping onto the floor, [9] and yet even through this pain he manages to stay wide away and conscious. He gets to a sitting position, laying his back against the side of the wagon, grabbing the grain bag and pushing it to his stomach. It does help the bleeding a bit, but not as much any more as he can only hold on with his left arm; he can no longer feel or properly use his right one, as he quickly discovers.
"No!" Reactivly screams The Shadow. Starn turns towards the yell, and witnesses a gun barrel aimed right at him. Before Starn can do anything, he sees the muzzle flash. [1 VS. 4] The spread misses Starn totally, but is close enough that it makes the bandit's hairs stand up all over his body.

Jim nods at the sheriff, then tips his hat at the foreigner.

"You look... Seugdian, I'd say? My pa knew a few Seugdians in his day. Most of them were crooks, but, eh, comes with the job. Anyway, I'm Jim, local deputy and the Sheriff's right-hand man. As he says, we don't have any money, but if you can help us out around here, I'll buy you a drink. Now then...about that brothel. I'd assume you know about it personally, boss?"

Jim Henson has a quick verbal joust with the Sheriff, before heading off to check on the Brothel. He walks up to it and knocks on the door.

"Hello? Anyone in there?"

attempt to dislodge tooth and hold it in mouth then use the tooth to cut the rope

The Sheriff glares at Jim, "Get the Hell outta' here boy! Do your job!" Jim leaves, arriving at the Brothel shortly. He knocks on the door...

Inside Brothel, Tuypo tries using his tooth as a makeshift cutting device. [7] He cuts the ropes, and while his wrists still bound up, at least now he can move his hands around freely.

Surround the brothel with my newfound religious mob, and go inside to talk with the owner. Offer to spare him and his business if he either stops the objectionable activity or keeps it on the down-low, and gives me a quarter of his profits, to be split 50-50 between myself and Father Gregor.
Jim continues to knock.
"Sheriff's deputy. Can you please open the door?"
Jim then notices the mob, and quietly tugs on his revolver.
"Woah, fellas. This brothel might be offensive to, well, all, of our delicate sensibilities, but it isn't breaking the law, and a giant mob conspiring to destroy private property is. Plus..."
Jim pulls out his revolver almost instantly, casually holding it, barrel down, and looking at the mob.
"If you continue to break the law...which one of you wants to come at me first?"

"...you can go in. Without the angry mob."
Jim steps away from the door, letting Keld in, but blocks the mob.

Keld halts the mob, and tries to explain what he plans to do.
Destruction, sir? Me und my vriends here only wish to give some... negotiation, no, sorry persuasion, to the owner to stop doing his homoscheck.... Homoschuck..man doing man. This is a peaceful... objection, no, protest. Please let me in so I may explain to the owner a plan I thought of on the way here.
"...you can go in. Without the angry mob."
Jim steps away from the door, letting Keld in, but blocks the mob.

Keld enters the building.

As Jim leads his investigation of the Brothel, Keld Cenek arrives on the scene with a mob of angry townsfolk. Most are wielding knives, pitchforks, 2x4s, torches, and other household items turned into deadly improvised weaponry. A handful of citizens carry firearms to their rally. The mob erupts into cries and threats, most of them concerning Tuypo's sexuality and his damnation. Jim draws out his gun, trying to dissuade the angry crowd. [4+1+1(Armed Bonus & Lawman Bonus] The mob stops moving, but they are still quite angry. Jim and Keld better do something quick, otherwise their people might just start a riot. The two of them head inside, where they find Tuypo on the ground, wrists tied in a knot.

"Well, the trick is that you got to know when to hold 'em,  know when to fold 'em, and know when to walk away. Never bet on a low pair, it rarely ends well for you. I'll see you folks around." Michael shares his poker wisdom.

Give them a couple of tips before going outside and walking around town to see what amenities it has.

Micheal Shawns gives some Poker wisdom to the playing table at the Saloon, and they all respond with appreciation. Outside, it looks like the town has a City Hall, Church, and General Store. The Tailor Shop looks like it will be done reasonably soon. The Brothel is experiencing usual business, with an angry mob outside ready to burn the place down and lynch the owner.

"Well then Padre, what a nice haul we had here, too bad it's all stuff that you already owned before."
I laugh in a playful mood.
"I suppose we should go back to the House of God and begin our business, si?"

Go back to the church and sell guns to the believers (don't sell my personal revolver of course), look for more addicts to sell opium to. Split profits with Father Gregor.

On they way back I casually talk to Father Gregor about setting up a opium plantation.
"Padre, there are many sheep in your congregation that are addicted to the Desert Paradise. It's only natural that you as their shepherd would cater to this need so they don't stray on the way of sin? You see, I have these poppy seeds and the knowledge of opium harvest."
I show him the seeds.
"They might end up bringing us fair Dólar, for the good of the congregation of course."
"I don't see the harm, my child, so I bless your endeavors. Let us find a good location for your plantation, shall we?"

After we sell drugs/guns, find a place to start the plantation, maybe hiring some workers and some guards along the way, paying them in opium and protection.
Before heading off with Josse to find somewhere to build, give some men to Keld to help him destroy the brothel.

After Father Gregor sends a mob to lay siege to the Brothel, (which they were getting ready to do anyways, his words simply invigorated them more) he and his business partner Josse set out to do good deeds and sell guns and drugs on the street.
[9+1+1] The dealers sell the guns for a very good profit, both of them netting $68 each. [5+1+1] Two bags of drugs are sold for $18, a decent profit; each man making an additional eighteen bucks.

Having sold a lot of their starting commodities, Josse and Father Gregor look for a place to grow poppies to keep their business going. A local advertisement showcases an 8-acre stretch of land being sold for $157.80, right on the grassland, with good weather and rich soil. The catch is that the land is out in the Homestead, where anyone can do whatever they wish, but they are out the mercy of the outside world, the world that contains hungry and venomous animals, unforgiving storms and vengeful Hontato warriors. They consult with each other if the price and risk is worth the possible gain...

"I mean no harm. I am simply a traveling doctor." Assume a nonthreatening stance.

Doctor Drew Whiteford, in the midst of a Hontato ambush, puts his hands up and declares that he is not an enemy. [10] Three Hontato men emerge from the tall grass, surrounding Whiteford. Two of them start speaking angrily to each other, the Doctor notices that while two of them hold Bows, one of them carries an old Musket. This musketman turns to Whiteford, "Sorry. My friend saw you come, said you were soldier, but you are doctor. Apologies." He looks at Whiteford's shirt, where the arrow had pierced. "You are hurt! We can treat you." He takes Whiteford by the arm, urging him to come.

Blood Opal rebukes the man by firmly, yet not overtly aggressively, planting the butt of her shotgun in his gut. "Now, now... you'll earn that reward soon enough... And even if we were planning such liberties with one another, now would not be the time. I need to get out and find something wicked for us to do... and some people willing to do it with us."

Assuming the goon is Rebuked without incident, Blood Opal hits the town and listens for any gossip not related to her recent adventure, and also asks around to find out who the local troublemakers are.

When blood Opal's big goon bites up more than he can chew, she budges him in the stomach with the butt end of her Shotgun. [8+2] He immediatly withdraws, almost submissively, "S-sorry ma'am. I can't reckin' what came over me..." When she elaborates, he perks up. "Certainly! I can wait, you go off and find yourself what you need." As she leaves, he hollers a half-hearted "Come back naw'..."

Opal goes around town scavenging for news. A Tailor Shop is being opened up by the first Jewish resident in New Jamestown, and Father Gregor has opened a Gun Stand right outside of the Church. As for trouble makers, Father Gregor has been seen with a foreign man from the South, who several people speculate is up to some no-good deed, possibly even bringing Father Gregor into it. More trouble makers would include the mob standing outside the Brothel, which Opal does not hear about, rather, she sees and hears it right in front of her.

"Well, at least I can cook, dammit."

Continue building the shop.
Motivate the others through good work and kind words! The shop must be completed! And if work goes slow, reassure Mr. Schwartz that things are going to work out in time.

John Ashwood tries to dismiss his embarrassment by working even harder on the Tailor Shop's construction. [2] He gets a bunch of wood together and knocks it over. Today was not the best of his days.
Sister Marjorie Swift continues her working, [7] and helps solidify one of the wooden walls. The Nun takes it upon herself to bolster the spirits of the other laborers. [10+2] Swift becomes their muse, their guiding angel, presiding over them and giving them guidance and power like the Athena of New Jamestown. The men work like a futuristic machine, John Ashwood simply shakes his head in disbelief. Quickly, the Tailor Shop is finished.

Mr Schwartz is beaming with delight as he sees the final touch, a board reading "TAILOR SHOP" at the front of it. As he distributes pay to each workers, he forks over $15 for Swift. "And dear, if you ever need new robes, please come over, I'll give you a discount." He continues to hand out pay, eventually getting to Ashwood. "Well you did the best you could, I suppose. You did put a lot of time in," he says giving him $3. "Get yourself something nice to eat, okay? And my word from one man for another, maybe look for an alternate profession."

After the store is done, several of the workers tail Sister Swift. Some ask to conversion, some want to stay with her, a couple of them even propose marriage. While the attention is nice, Swift, her admirers, and John Ashwood notice that an angry crowd of people has gathered outside the Brothel, yelling threats and insults.

"Gah, who took al mah moneh? Dagit, now I gotza find me soom cahsh naw."
Look for a job for some beer money

Greg Whiskey, out of beer and out of money, goes to find a job to get more beer and money once his headache wears off. Unfortunately, the job market in New Jamestown which was just open to all sorts of labor, is now dry. The Tailor Shop is done with construction, the General Store has found some transporters, and while the lawmen would probably want a new deputy, they do not want a drunk to be handling a gun and dispensing justice. Whiskey is in dire straits, he realizes that he might have to head down some dangerous roads to get more booze, whether that's a life of crime or seeking fortune elsewhere, outside of New Jamestown.

First Action: Carter will ask around to see if any businesses are up for sale.

Carter Duffield, a richly dressed man that just reeks of high-end Eastern capitalism comes into New Jamestown, with a wallet full of cash and an eye for any businesses to buy up. He heads to the General Store, asking the Storekeeper for a price, who asks for a steep $850. No way that place is worth that much, but that's what the man wants. The Saloon is not for sale, nor is the newly opened Tailor Shop. There is a Gun-Stand right outside the Church, perhaps Carter could speak to its owner about buying up its stock. The Brothel may be up for grabs soon, Carter deduces after listening to an angry mob call out for the owner of the establishment to be put to death.

Jonah Clay can tell that he's come into New Jamestown at one hell of a time. He gets a table at the edge of the Saloon and orders a glass of Whiskey while observing what's going on. [4] The Whiskey causes Jonah's eyes to begin to blur, but he looks around. He sees a gambling table, a table full of tired working men. Really, not much going on here now, maybe it will be more exciting tonight. Speaking of exciting, he hears some loud hoopin' and hollering down the road.

Everyone who is in New Jamestown is now aware of the Brothel Mob and their intentions, as the crowd is too large and loud to not notice.

It is now Dusk.

Spoiler: Characters (click to show/hide)

In just a few turns, New Jamestown has gone from a relatively normal frontier settlement to a clusterfuck of crime, corruption and cutthroat insanity while the law struggles to keep everyone from murdering each other. Thank you guys for letting me GM with your crazy characters and ideas.
