Anime girls hold no sway over me.

Unlike kittens. And puppies. And... most baby mammals. Not most baby birds. Most baby birds look terrifying. Chicken chicks are an exception.

This sounds like a challenge to find cute things with no hair or fur that should have it, in the animal kingdom.

I was trying to describe how I don't really find hairless cats cute, but then I really thought about it, and then I found this:

Depending on your perspective, that's either endearing or a total nightmare. But yeah, that's what I got to thinking. Even if it looks like a Gremlin, if it really liked you and looked up at you with those cat eyes, purring....it'd be cute. The kind of cute only an owner could love, and that at the right angles would make you cringe. But cute.

I guess some people got their tiny spiders, and I have hairless kittens.

Seems harsh. Although I'd admit "Like hugging your grandma!" isn't the best advertisement for a pet.

Hairless cats are just short-haired cats with wrinkle patterns instead of fur. Doesn't really look less adorable, although petting them would be a highly odd touch sensation.

Preliminary googling of my favourite hairless mammals[Naked mole rats] reveals that they range from horrifying to disgusting in terms of appearance. Still awesome, but by no means cute. I guess furry critters win this round.

Sphinx cats are pretty awesome. You people dislike both sphinx cats and jumping spiders, how can you be so feeble? >:C

Anyway, this is a capybara, a gigantic rodent from South America. They're known for being surprisingly serene and overall  friendly, but also rather brave.
Lately they're becoming more and more popular as exotic pets, due to their friendly nature, probably due to the fact they're pack animals.
They're also adept swimmers and prefer living near the water.
