TBH they probably expect us to feed them too. We're the worst step-parents.

Males will also try to nurse the kittens. And sometimes young adults will try to sneak in and get some milk too, and mom often doesnt seem to care. I've clearly owned too many cats.

They don't, it's that females in a colony will look after and nurse one another's kittens so the other females can go off and do things like hunt and socialise.

It could be possible what Eric Blank is saying is true about male cats. But I have no way of verifying this video, so I will continue to speculate for now and keep an open mind regarding cat behavior.

I have to say, I'm finding cats carrying comfort toys and blankets is seriously making me want to die of a cuteness OD.

For some reason, also cats with little bowtie collars.

I've yet to see a cat with a bowtie collar carrying around a comfort stuffie, but if I did I suspect I might actually just collapse into a black hole.
