Not a horned lizard. That's a different critter. _{which coincidentally lives where I live.}

Reverse image searching brings up "armadillo girdled lizard".

And reading the wikipedia article, they're apparently fairly common as pets and live for around 25 years!

Plus they're a social reptile which means they likely make wonderful docile pets. Then again, it is a group of 30 to 60 lizards. Lizard table anyone?

I'm guessing you could keep smaller groups, but considering how small they are (about 10cm at the largest, or just over 4 inches) I guess you could easily find room for 30+ lizards.

If I ever got one, I'd want one that has a full range of emotions though. A lot of reptiles are just "I tolerate you because your warm" being confused for affection.

Bearded dragons are one of the more intelligent ones when it comes to owners and emotions and stuff. They're pretty darn cool.
