Timmy Grant and the band teach all the military platoons and the specialist platoons how to properly rock out
5 Undergrads the 1 General Engineer and the Car Engineer work on finishing the Bus's Sound System in the Large Workshop
The Sound Specialist Engineer and 25 Undergrads design awesome guitars that could be built out of the Kaiju Claw in the small workshop
20 Undergrads and the 2 scientists study the Kaiju Claw itself in the laboratory again.
Manager begins a viral marketing campaign to repair the bands image

25 General scientists research the Kaiju liver in the in-base lab
5 Armor Specialists, 5 General Engineers, and 5 undergrads use one of the finished workshops to build a set of anti-bullet body armor
5 General Engineers and 10 undergrads use the other finished workshop to start building a set of motorcycles
20 undergrads look over the combat data
25 undergrads study the Kaiju muscle in a rented lab for 50 CR
2 special forces platoons guard the base
The mechanized infantry platoon can find some remote part of Appalachia and go offroading train diligently
The five pilots can sit around playing flight sims or something

Meanwhile, John Schonberg, founder of the First Association for Fighting Nigh Invulnerable Reptiles invites Date Makanouichi to meet with him over lunch.
((The actual conversation will most likely take place over PMs, to avoid cluttering the thread))

Halberd

Research:

LG Spec. Scientist, along with 6 General Scientists and 18 Undergrads study the skin sample in the lab.

Engineering:

Spec. Engineer, along with 4 General Engineers and 20 Undergrads continue work on Project VERT in the workshop. Main priority is to remove the stability issues. Additional funding: -50CR

2 General Engineers with 9 Undergrads design a larger workshop. Renting costs: -30CR

Military:

2 SF Platoons guard the compound.

6 Pilots are to provide feedback on controlling the VERT (and possibly gain some piloting experience with them).

2 Pilots are assigned to the Chinooks.

I've adopted Wwolin's method of copypastable bookkeeping. I've also fixed a few errors (removed the destroyed bone sample (you've accidentally left it there) and fixed the personnel count (it was increased to 169)).

HERALD

Financial correction:
- Scratch off payments for the deceased platoon. They knew that not all would survive even basic training. (redirect 25/m to income)

Workshop activity:
- 1 Superior, 3 Melee, 5 General and 5 Undergrade engineers research the prospect of creating melee weapon, capable of both injuring Kaiju and being transported around. Weapon that may require superhuman capabilities is fine.
- 1 Melee, 5 General and 5 Undergrade engineers use the previous research data to start creation of knives from superior materials (-50 CR)

Warrior activity:
- 3 SF platoons try the same basic survival training, preferably learning from proceeders.
- 1 platoon of survivalists goes to the foreign training facilities (-25 CR) to receive hardest training possible (additional price might be assigned)
- 3 Pilots find a contract to practice their skills as HALBERD still searches for the best aircraft to use in the freezing cold.

Anyone want to play as NERV and build Evas to fight the aliens? You may cancel being a hero to do so, if you've already signed up as a hero.

((Alright, just woke up, frieking Australia.
NERV:
Research division:
Two scientists and 2 undergrads are to begin figuring out how durable the skin is in a kaiju, how tough is it? Is there any method that might yield better results than plain shoots shoots bang bang?
The other three scientests and 2 undergrads are to study the kaiju heart sample in an rented lab, mainly just because I can't think of anything else to use them for here.

Engineering Division:
That one undergrad is to continue work on that tracking project of his, the sooner it's finished the faster we can kill those kaijus.
3 engineers and 2 undergrads should continue work on developing that exoskeletons basic armouring and movement, the other 2 engineers and undergrads are to develop some kind of power source that can at least stand at to medium infantry fire while remaining stable.

Combat devision:
Major Katsuragi is to assign three general infantry platoons to garrison our base.  They will rotate between active guard duty, training exercises and down time every week.  Our remaining forces are to remain on high alert, ready to mobilize at any moment.  As for our pilots, have one Child on active alert and two in training at all times, rotating every week.

5 general scientists, 15 undergrads analyze and compare the combat data with the neural data to attempt to further their understanding of Kaiju behavior and thought processes
5 general engineers work on a variant of the camera drone that can take samples of (presumably dead) Kaiju

Survival platoon is sad about their lack of employment options, and will perhaps aid the engineers in making sure the drones aren't liable to getting themselves slagged unnecessarily

Tip of the day: When using an upgraded workshop or laboratory, please remind your GM that it is upgraded.

Adwarf's Black Forge

With an actually competent team, research on battlefield railgun weaponry goes exceptionally well. Railguns require particularly bulky ammo, due to the need to replace rails, but are both accurate and powerful. The team has the theoretical work done on railguns of nearly any size, and are ready to begin designing railguns of whatever size you want, from a disposable 'pen' hold-out weapon up to battleship sized turrets. One of the undergrads suggests that no mountain would dare stand against you if you start employing railgun turrets the size of a battleship. (-30CR taken for rental lab due to construction)

The motorcycle team has nothing to show for their efforts, other than an unusually unstable bike.

Unable to double-up in the workshop with the motorcycle team, the weapon manufacturing takes place on the airfield. The newly built deliverance weapons are noticeably less accurate and jam significantly more often than expected.

New Tech: Conventional Railguns, Exceptional
+2 Bad Quality Deliverance Weapons

Furtuka's Timmy Grant and the Kaiju Fighters

The commandos gain experience in Rock. They are skilled enough to entertain elementary schoolers. They are starting to appreciate this posting.

The sound system is installed in the bus. One of the undergrads dropped a speaker after opening the box, but it still works.

Plans are drafted for converting the claw into guitars. They think they could get three from one claw.

The study of the claw results in a particularly dry and boring report. You're not sure how they made the claw from a kaiju so boring.

Nobody really notices your marketing campaign.

You buy a bus. Your pilot crashes it several times, but somehow only causes superficial damage. He learns a lot about crashing a bus safely. (-10CR)

New Tech: Preliminary Kaiju Claw Study
New design Kaiju Claw Guitars (3 engineer months, 1/3 of a kaiju claw)
Bus upgraded.
New pilot trait: Safe crashing [ground]
Kaiju claw destroyed

Wwolin's F.A.F.N.I.R.

The study of the liver sample goes very well. It seems to be capable of absorbing and breaking down any blood-born poisons in a matter of seconds. The researchers get ideas for an artificial organ capable of doing something similar in humans, but warn that it may be prohibitively expensive with current technology.

Those studying the combat data get a few ideas, possibly increasing troop effectiveness.

A preliminary study of the muscle is completed.

Research Completed: Preliminary Behavioral Analysis (F.A.F.N.I.R.)
Research Completed: Through Kaiju Liver Sample Study
Research Completed: Preliminary Kaiju Muscle Sample Study
+1 Set of good quality anti-bullet armor
+0.5 sets of motorcycles

Hawk123's Halberd

Kaiju skin is unnaturally tough. It seems to be the source of the kaiju's passive ECM, but the dead sample is largely lacking ECM properties.

Project VERT continues. The mech is now fairly stable, even over debris-strewn terrain, but it's top speed is barely faster than a human walk. It should be able to easily fire light infantry weapons while moving. They have many improvements that could be made, or they could try to get a combat-usable design ready with another month.

The group designing a larger workshop gets several designs, some of which would fall apart under their own weight, none of which would survive a mech accidentally ramming a wall. Useless.

Research Completed: Preliminary Skin Study
Project VERT specs: Mech with 2x human height, 3MPH, stable over damaged terrain, easily fires light infantry weaponry while moving

Sarrak's HERALD

Herald's accountant has been fired and replaced. ((25 credits refunded. Normally dead troops still get paid, but I think I failed to do that for anybody else last turn.))

Your researchers design a chainsword. It is decently balanced, but needs serious strength to use in combat.

Your engineers design titanium short swords with obsidian edges. They probably won't be good for more than one slash on each edge.

The basic survival training produces another well-trained platoon, without losing an entire platoon this time (6CR to return to full strength). Your other platoon spends two months going through horrible training, but will come out of it able to survive unsupplied nearly anywhere on Earth with no attrition.

404: generic pilot training unavailable at this time.

Survival II platoon unavailable for actions until the end of next turn.
New Design: Chainsword (2CR, 2 engineer months each)
New Design: Titanium-obsidian short swords (12.5CR, 12.5 engineer months for 50)
((I'm not tracking 0.5s. They cost 13 of each if you're making 50, or 25 for a 100 pack.))

Execute/Dumbo.exe's NERV

The scientists study the skin, and suggest no better ways of destroying it than with large explosions. They suggest that live skin should have different properties than dead skin.

The heart sample seems to be remarkably similar to terrestrial hearts, after accounting for alien genetics and its improved strength.

The undergrad assigned to the tracking project begins consulting various psychics. His results are that there was only one kaiju, and it was a modifed Earth species.

The powered exoskeleton project is proceeding slowly. They have settled on a hydraulic movement system for the legs.

The powerplant project is a failure. The engineers assigned will be in the hospital for the foreseeable future to recover from heavy radiation poisoning, at doubled pay. Your standard workshop needs about 175CR to be properly decontaminated.

Research Completed: Preliminary Kaiju Skin Study
Research Completed: Preliminary Kaiju Skin Study
Critical failure during design phase.

IronyOwl's SINCOM

Your team comparing combat data analysis and neural data suggest a few tactics for your troops, which might help to bring them down faster.

SINCOM engineers design a small drone to scoop up kaiju samples. They only have a range of a few miles, and can't really cut samples away, but can work together to get larger pieces.

The troops get basic training in operating the sample retrieval drones.

Research Completed: Preliminary Behavioral Analysis (SINCOM)
New Design: Sample Retrieval Drone (3 engineer months, 2 credits)

Warning! Kaiju detected.

This one looks like a six legged turtle. Its current course will take it to the Chinese coast in slightly over an hour.

Anti-kaiju organizations may ask for military assistance getting to the kaiju attack, if they wish. (Having your own airfield will speed up transportation. Having your own air transport is even faster.) Responding is not required.
