Very amusing and harmless (thus far). To quote the wiki:

Lungfish got jealous at the birds that taunted them. So one day, Urist McLungfish captured one of these birds and fused them together with himself. Creating an air and water breathing flying fish. Literally.

This was before world gen in Armok's experiment worlds and saw that these fish would one day rule the world. Outnumbering all the species, even the elves.

Obviously, Lungfish are capable of inhaling large amounts of air and then releasing it with enough force to defy gravity. The question is whether they fly backwards, or do what jet engines do...

Only if you mod in an organ called an 'air sac' or something, which has [FLIER] so that it can't fly when the air sac is pierced.
