Our small conservative christian party SGP is foaming at the mouth in parliament, because our public broadcasting network VPRO has decided to make a documentary about porn, by making 3 porn movies and making a 'the making of' these 3 movies as documentary. The 3 porn movies will only be shown on the internet, the porn documentary will be broadcasted on Dutch public tv.

SGP is outraged that tax money is being used to make porn movies.
In their defense, the broadcasting service VPRO says that by making porn themselves, they get an unique view into the porn acting scene that documentary makers that follow some third party porn movie maker don't get. They also say that 80 percent of our children watch porn at least once a week. This influences their sexuality. That is a very good reason to research the subject on public tv.

At least VPRO aren't pretending what they made isn't porn. Unlike several other companies.

Do you have a quotable English or German source for that? I'd love to show my friends.

Huzzah. Cake or booze?

You're saying that like it's impossible to combine the two.

If you combine the two and don't flambé the result, I will be sorely disappointed.

1 step closer to a ministry of fap (fornication and pornography), the acronym is perfection

Lol, LW, that's not restricted to Europe, it's a global stat, with the exception of those countries that enforce strict internet censorship.

"Children" is a bit too broad a term for this. They should've provided an age range. Otherwise we can imply silly stuff like that eight-years-old are watching porn.

But even if everybody over nine watches porn once a week, that still leaves 60% of below-nine-year-olds doing the same. Surely there's been a misrepresentation here somewhere.

It's even more apparent if you consider kids under four and a half -- even if kids 4.5-18 watched porn every week, 20% of those under four-and-a-half must watch porn every week for the statement to be true.
