Also, DICE totally screwed the pooch when they turned heroes (and vehicles) into pickups, since you basically end up with the same handful of assholes in every match camping the spawns and nobody else ever gets to use them.

It's better than having them as "killstreak/scorestreak" rewards, at least.
Killstreaks (or whatever you call them) are pretty much the shittiest thing about most shooters these days. Ugh.

Also I am finding Battlefront to be quite fun, although then again I'm not the one who paid for it so perhaps that helps.
Certainly better than BF4 either way.

No, they aren't. Because if it was a flat reskin, it'd be BETTER.

As much as it pains me to say it, no. They at least moved a little bit away from the formula by retaining (semi-)functional third person and not making ADS the default only good way to shoot. That alone makes Battlefront III, despite being monumentally shit, better than Battlefield. There hasn't been a good Battlefield since 2. Amusingly, with the right mod, that's still the best Battlefield out there even for multiplayer.

First, I thought you were talking about Battlefield... which is also an EA title >_<. According to the Steam page, multiplayer support for BF2 was dropped. Is it still possible to play? Also, is it possible to turn off those godawful perks, especially once you've unlocked the permanent version of them? Seriously, all but maybe two of the weapon perks suck(they're actually worse than the base weapon), and the stat-boost perks are both worthless and have this really irritating constant sound effect emanating from you at all times.

There are still unofficial servers up.

That said, the mod I was talking about, Project Reality, went standalone this spring to due to concerns about new players not being able to join because EA was pulling BF2 from online retailers in addition to not making it any more. There aren't a ton of public servers still up for it either, but there are at least a couple Russian ones and a couple US ones, plus ones run by private communities.

And I quite like Battlefield 4, if only because the guns feel like they actually have a god damn effect and aren't all just hoses. As for killstreaks, FFFFUCK killstreaks. I despise that mechanic.

I feel as though the best thing one could do with Battlefront III is make the game less balanced, more asymmetrical. Think about it: Why is there even a K/D on Walker Assault? Of course the Rebels are going to die more, they're HOLDING THE LINE!
