The whole thing is directly connected to it, though.

This, on another thread.

I am happy for your garage
Mine was turned into a room. Loadsa years ago, can't remember how many, some burglars ran around smashing all the locks to all the garages hoping at least one would give away. They succeeded in smashing our garage lock since ours was the oldest and opened up the garage door - only to be met with a brick wall

Surely at that point in your life you just give up

Of course, Twin is neither man nor woman but an unholy eldritch abomination like every other Bay12er. The difference is they hide it better.

A cursory Google search for jobs you can get with a gender studies degree reveals a whole lot of people asking what they can do with a gender studies degree.

So yeah, it's valid (for some insane reason), just totally worthless.

Its valid in the same sense a philosophy degree is valid: it proves that you went through college (which is an advantage regardless of what you did), and it can get you a job teaching philosophy :P

Surely, Mathematics is the most valid of all degrees. Everything else is just some application of mathematics and is thus inferior.

Shhh, don't make the other fields feel bad! We work so hard to give them the impression that they're valid on their own, and not just as means to ensure mathematicians can work in comfort...

Shhh, don't feel mathsologists feel bad, don't tell 'em they're only good for statistical analysis of the results, they work so hard to uphold their illusions... :P

We are doomed. It's just that whatever is going to kill us all just happens to be, from a scientific standpoint, pretty frickin' awesome.
