Cookie Monster is still Cookie Monster, they just made him moderate. You know what, though? With as fat as today's kids are, I can't say as I blame them. There was one obese kid in my class when I was my daughter's age. You see a hell of a lot more of them nowadays, judging by the kids I see when I pick her up from school. I had a kid come in today who had to have weighed at least 250lbs, and he was only about 9 or 10. You know, one of those "so fat I lost my neck" people, but a kid.

I've known one or two grotesquely large people, but in my current year I can't think of anyone who is truly large. There are one or two chubby ones, though.

Most of the fat people in NZ live in the North Island, so I don't see a whole lot of them. There's the odd one or two who are a bit... rounder, but by and large the obese ones are Maori or Pacific Islanders, and the vast majority of them live in the North Island.

As a Canadian it always surprises me when I find an American who doesn't know what poutine is.  Every time.
