Ness is practically glowing with excitement, hangover all but forgotten, as she raps out a rapid rhythm on her drums absently. She always seemed to create her own background music. The echoes off the walls of the caves gave it a different quality than one might expect, though.

[Nerjin]

With a sigh Sacha replies "No, this is pest control."

[Tawa]

You all continue into the mines.

Anyway, it gets progressively darker and gloomier. Eventually, the torches just stop being there. The mines seem to have not been touched for ages here. For some reason, after about an hour, you find that huge patches of tiny mushrooms and moss like a massive, dull yellow carpet are growing everywhere.

Eventually, at the end of a long corridor, you find something. A roughly-hewn shaft leads down into a deep cavern that glows with a strange, soft, purple light. There is a horribly broken staircase leading downward.

Attempt Nature checks on the mushrooms and mosses. Anything useful?

"I don't suppose we can walk down this thing?" Sacha asks the group as she examines the stairs.

[Tawa]

You remember hearing stuff about how in caverns, miles underground, strange things grow that are normally only found in small amounts on the surface. Even then, these are wildly different from what you've seen before.

"I don't suppose we can walk down this thing?" Sacha asks the group as she examines the stairs.

The staircase would be exceedingly hazardous to try to walk down. There are several spots where you cannot see the floor if you look straight down.

[Nerjin]

"Anyone have any rope?"

[Sirus]

"I've got 50 feet. Will that work?"

Darwyn hands Sacha his rope.

[Flying Dice]

"Aye, I've a good hun'red feet o' line. We can tie it together, I think. Now, who among us weighs the least?"

[Nerjin]

"We should send Oleg. He's strong and tough and has nothing on him. Plus he can see in the dark. Seems like he'd be at the least risk."
