The difference between a Jokaero and an Oddboy is that a Jokaero is a master craftsman, whereas the Oddboy can create anything he wants and have it work because he really believes it can.

Therefore, Toady is an Oddboy.
Oddboyz are pretty much anything that's not a regular boy or weird/wyrdboy. So meks, doks, pigdoks, herdas and so on are all oddboyz.
Perhaps he is his own special kind of Oddboy whose oddness is his ability to create extremely detailed sim games. He was exiled from his clan for being not roight orky enuff, and also only moderately green. So now he is having a Mad Mek moment in which he is trying to, quote-unquote, "SHOW DEM! SHOW DEM ALL!" by creating the orkiest game in existence.

He is a Toadboy, if you will.

He's my argument: left to their own devices Jokaero just create. It's like a primordial urge they have to satisfy. Toady is like the Jokaero, sitting in a grassy field somewhere under the sun, assembling a particle beam. Only he's building weather systems and circulatory systems and things like that. Not because he was asked to or because he had a goal in mind other than "make weather", "make arteries to sever", "make herd animals graze." Just because he kinda "had to." Put a Jokaero in captivity and try to harness its creativity for your own ends and it will just sit there and wither and die. Try to get Toady to work for someone other than himself, at other than his own pace or on mostly his own ideas and he'd probably do the same.

I though Jokaero made stuff to survive or whatever. Like grav packs and shit if they want to go faster, las-cannon rings for self defense, and etc.

Well, they build weapons to eat and survive, Toady writes code to do the same. Although I did need some brushing up on my Jokaero knowledge.

He's been in a fell mood for several years now.

Imagine how valuable the artifact video game will be once it's done. I'm watering at the mouth just thinking about it.

Are there any sci-fi settings that have a similar level of unique style as 40k?

Probably a dozen space operas do, and some fantasy bumps.

The game is titanic, but still has had development limited by the size of the team- not that anyone'd have it any other way.

Edit: Oops thought they said DF.

I just realized there's a precedence for who flame wars would fall under, and it's most likely indeed Tzeentch

When the Eldar Empire were at their peak and the humans entering the dark age of technology, both species had essentially conquered disease, the Eldar were so superior no one could possibly challenge them in warfare and the humans used the men of iron to fight for them (thus spilling no blood). With both species full of hope and ambition, no blood spilt and disease near-perished, Tzeentch was top don and Khorne and Nurgle waning, up until Slaanesh is born

40K is literally all shit stolen from other sci-fi franchises and renamed.

You forgot the bits copied over from WH:FB, which was stolen from other fantasy instead.

Non-human species still have blood.
