The teased Inquisitor game has been announced.

Can't say the description gets me too hyped up. I hope this is decent, because the Mass Effect-style Inquisitor RPG I (and seemingly the entire comments section, huh) would love is very unlikely to happen after this (at least in the near future - why would they make another Inquisition-themed RPG when this already exists, after all?). Looking forward to more info anyway.

If they manage to interlock the 40k lore and game mechanics properly, it'll be good enough for me, even if its a van hellsing clone. That persistent mode sounds pretty great too, as long its not too repetitive and has some ammount of proceduraly generated content.

I'm surprised nobody has made some sort of call of duty: imperial guard thing yet, altough I should probably be glad for it. Fire Warrior was terrible, but thats probably because it was about the tau >:v

If it happens, I just wish they'll not make the player into an unstoppable badass - the whole point of the Guard is that they're exactly not that. Have enemies be cultists, traitor Guard, and other human-level foes. Have the Marines as bosses and extremely tough foes, make sure they're as terrifying as they should be. I'm not saying there shouldn't be individual heroics and extraordinary successes, but it shouldn't feel like a power fantasy in that regard; that's what Space Marine is for.

A tactical squad-based shooter would be nice too, or you could add stealth mechanics and such and just adapt Gaunt's Ghosts.

Well, they could just make you into SLY MARBO or something :P

But actualy, a squad based stealth assault imperial guard game actualy sounds pretty interesting. Maybe a rainbow six kind of thing, when you actualy had control over your squad and your engagements and it wasn't about larger than life one man army style missions.

So, what's up with the new RPG? What's it like? (Sorry, Ican't check at the moment.)

Also, yeah, games companies seem to never make the games everyone is clamoring for. Or if they do, they somehow majorly screw it up.

Catachan would be good for heroes.
Young Straken, Greiss and Nork Dedogg.
Iron Hand Straken
Sergeant Harker.
Marbo.

Etc Etc.

The problem with the first and only is that they're still platoons. You've got your named characters, but they're so spread out that you couldn't possibly represent all of the named C's in the books on one table without having a 10000 point game.

I see it now: Warhammer 40k: Ogryn. In which you are an ogryn bone 'ead punching orks into green pulp, sitting on 'nids till they stop breathing (do tyranids breathe?), using tau as toothpicks and headbutting traitor marines while a comissar orders you around. Your execution moves would consist of point blank ripper gun shots, headsqueezing and sitting on people while your character screams at them with incoherent, broken english.

Hey, it'd be fun :v

Fun fact (Source 2e or something):
Everything in the imperial armory has random designations because the IG like labelling everything with letters and numbers.
One of these designations is |OP|, meaning 'Ogryn Proof'. Which is stamped onto the side of everything which seems able to survive being assigned to an Ogryn.
I chuckled.

Hahaha, age of skubmar is brilliant. Just heard some fa/tg/uy's rant that imprisoning Slaanesh was part of the move to getting fantasy to be a 12+ game, and you can't be selling the Prince of Pleasure's models to parents trying to lavish luxuries upon their children.

I'm curious as to how a tank would evolve. Would it climb out of the primordial ooze wiggling it's track-nubs, feeding on smaller jeeps before crawling onto the shore having evolved proper treds?
