I personally really dislike strength D weapons and super-heavy vehicles in 40k standard.
They don't like their stats to go above 10 on anything for whatever reason, so in order to continue their power creep they've had to introduce str-D.
Which is essentially "Instakills most things".

I don't mind them in apocalypse when you really have to strip all those hull points off that massive titan or whatever, but in 40k base it just ruins small-point games.
I Love skirmishes - so I Hate these.

Especially as now that they've apparently decided to merge Apocalypse and Standard, but still haven't created a more rounded out mordheim/killteams style game.

Anyway, hatred of tabletop aside, most people are in it for the lore, so hey.

Eldar codex just came out.
Wraithknights are strength D. Wraithcannons are strength D.
(Yes that means that the 26pp wraithguard now come with strength D weapons base)

I... I think I'm done with this franchise.

Wait wait wait

26 points?

What. The. Fuck.

I don't even have words. I thought everyone was just being ludicrous since stuff like that seems like it would cost 80 points a pop.

But 4 fucking points more than my fucking crisis suits?

Dear Aun am I glad I never bought anything after my first cash dump into GW.

Hold on, I'm pulling codexes out of my head here.
Before we start quoting me on it let me make sure I've got my fact straight.

Then we can get mad.

Edit: Latest Ed they got a 12 point bump, so you pay 42pp for the 12" SD T6 model.

Slaanesh has no particular battlecry, nor do Tzeentch or Nurgle. Some of their mortal servants have battlecries, but none as ubiquitous as 'Skulls for the Skull Throne!'

I am fond of Dawn of War 2's 'This quiet offends Slaanesh' as a battlecry for noise marines though.

THINGS WILL GET LOUD NOW!

Can't believe I missed this, this can only mean this post wasn't loud enough.

Considering that I pay 10pp over that or more for most dualweapon crisis suit loadouts...it's almost reasonable.

But then I remember that my Broadsides are 90pp. Distortion rule was fine, I guess, but that's...ugh. It's frustrating, but Tau can keep Eldar at arm's reach better than almost anyone, so at least there's that(fuck your Holofields, I have marker lights).

Pentatide is still a thing though. Cheese can be done with anyone; just don't bother with tournies, and play with peoplewho aren't dicks. Or use the miniatures for the RPGs only.

Side note: I think the first guy was being drowned out...

My personal chapter(despite not playing SM) has "Sing His Name!" as their battlecry, but Noise Marines are awesome, and I like "STRAIN TO BE HEARD!" as their cry.

IIRC it's not strain to be heard, but SCREAM TO BE HEARD

Strength D? What the fuck is that? I mean, how do you dice that?

Isn't it obvious? The D stands for "Don't." :P

You roll on a d6 table where 1 does nothing, 2-5 deal d3 wounds, 6 deals d6. No saves of any kind.

Against most enemies it's basically no better than S10 AP2 is, but it's good against tanks/MCs and ICs. Also the only way to easily kill superheavies and GMCs.

*starts singing about Power Creep.*

Seriously, I can't think of a single persistently updated game that doesn't have power creep. Card games, board games, video games, ALL the power creep.

Isn't Matt Ward that guy everyone hates because of what he did with the Smurfmarines?
