"Can it, sailor," he says, an unidentifiable Southern twang just barely detectable in his speech.  "Don't like your tone.  Rest of the saloon won't neither, you yellin' like that."
He jabs a finger at his Southern companion, his voice growing louder, defiantly. Kiss my bone white arse, Zekey boy! Yeh ken drop right dead! Yer always swaggerin', as if you think yer better than me! You-! Uh..! He flounders a bit, his drink addled brain struggling now. Well, erm.. Yer a gimp! Let's leave it at that. Kagus is actually quite fond of Ezekiel, but he hates it if he believes someone thinks they're better than him. He does shut up, however, now that he's gotten his word in. He swings the bottle up this time, taking a long swallow and then setting it back down.

Kagus is bored, and chooses not to participate in the conversation. He does notice the knight, however, and thinks he looks like a right swaggering idiot.

Alison laughs slightly before sitting down on a stool, she takes a crumbled pack of cigarettes out from underneath the counter and lights one up as she answers.

"We might be well defended, but its not much when more often than not attackers are Croakers who come out of the water right on the docks instead of pirate ships trying to enter the cove where Hulldun and his men can tear them to bits. This region is in a bit of a crisis these days with croaker raids becoming more, and more frequent no matter how many of the damned things we kill and burn, makes it seem like a hopeless fight some days. If you're looking to help there's three towns in this region all which could damn well use some help, there's here which is Graston, Brasburg that is built on top of one of the larger plateaus to the east, and Harington way up north built near the old NA naval barricades.

If you're looking to help people, we could sure as hell use it since we were supposed to have a chain barrier net delivered from Harington a week ago, but the last boat we sent out to fetch it never came back and Hulldun can't find anyone to escort this one. I'd feel a lot better if we had that barrier net strung up between the towers, would keep the croakers out that's for sure, if you want to remedy that I suggest you go talk to Hulldun up at the town hall later. I'll just warn you now that he has a mean streak when it comes to this town, that man would throw himself at Maze Dragon with nothing but a sharp rock if he thought it'd protect this town and put anyone who risked its safety six feet under."

He looks over at you, his face hidden by the mirrored visor of his helmet. "Ah, good evening. Please, call me Roivas" He leaves a tip on the bar, thanks her,  and slowly strides over to the table.

This close, you can see his armaments a lot more clearly- a massive looking automatic handgun, and what looks like a sword- carefully polished to a blinding sheen.

"So, friend, what do you know?"

Kagus notices his sword. He's noticeably admiring it. He leans in a bit and rubs his chin. Ohh..

Julien laughs a bit.

"I'm Julien, this here's my nephew Mathieu. Good to meet you, Roivas. As to what I know, I confess, not much - I know I've got a similar goal as yourself of helpin' folks and that I might be of some use to you, and I know a bit about this and that. But gason kanson, there's more that I could tell you than what I know, if you don't mind me taking a moment to ask. I don't know if it will be useful. But St. Joseph whispers in my ear, brother, and when he speaks he speaks truth. Whether or not you want to hear it is up to you, but if you're looking to help the folks of this town and those nearby, the things I know which might be of use to you involve the mendin' of bones and the sharing of stories, and that knowledge is at your service."

"Shall I ask good ol' Joseph if he has any information that might be of value to you as well, gason kanson?"

"The Saints preserve us. I would never turn down their guidance, regardless of how it is delivered" he speaks, as he takes a seat, his thin frame lowering itself gracefully into the rickety old seats. "Who are your allies, perchance? I am always interested in hearing new tales."

Klasha looked up from clutching her aching head.

"I'm Klasha, brainer. I think people to death for a living."

Ezekiel smirks.  "Yer drunk, duck-man.  Can't handle yer drink?"

"Zeke's the name.  Folk once called me Dead-Eye.  Mercenary gunman for hire." Zeke looks for a moment as if he's about to continue, but stops that train of thought abruptly.  "So... Templar, huh?  Like the knights?  Explains the helmet – and the sword, don't see those around much, these days – and what's yer tale?"

Julien Conjurin' Roll: ???

As the group talks Julien pulls out his deck of cards, and clears away some space on the table before beginning to shuffle a few dozen times, placing the deck off to the side he speaks a few short prayers to the Loas, the saints, and any who might listen. Julien sets out seven cards in front of himself, and proceeds to read the results of what he finds in the cards and the whispers of the Loas, and the saint to find some knowledge of what the future has in store for them. Julien gets an overwhelming sense of despair, and a few words begin to flit through his mind,

"Water ... danger ... coming ... abomination."

He hears the words as if they were actually metal sliding on rocks, and then suddenly it all disappears leaving him mildly uncomfortable while being unsure of the reading he just made.

Ezekiel smirks.  "Yer drunk, duck-man.  Can't handle yer drink?"
Kagus reddens at the remark about his name, he waves his arms wildly. Piss off, Zeke! Just shuddup yeh bastard! He huffs. And what the hell're yeh on about?! Course I can handle my drink! Yer not even drinkin', yeh useless gimp! He drinks again.

Card trick
The sailor grows pale, and by the end of the demonstration he is left noticeably shaken. He whispers. Julien. Don't do that voodoo shite in front of me again-! He suddenly feels quite ill, and he quickly scoots out of the booth. A-ay'm goin' to piss, this.. Pisswater.. He edges carefully around the templar and runs outside.

((He's going to vomit.))

The only thing anyone, but Julien noticed was him drawing cards, that is it, well except Wrex he felt the despair part.

He turns to Zeke, snapping around. "Do not confuse me with those tyrants! We are the Anti-templars, dedicated to ending the dictator, Simon, and his false order of syncophants and pretenders. Hence the Black Tabard, which we bear proudly, rather than Simon, who would grovel and scrape, then stab them in the back!"He spits out the name Simon, like the word itself was filthy and diseased, a blight upon the english language. He takes a moment to compose himself. "The sword is a holy tool of our order. Most of us prefer axes, but I have always taken to the more balanced weapon. Plus, I can hold this in my other hand" He pats the burly handgun at his side.

"Today would be a bad day to go out on the water, friend. I think you should settle in today, mon vieux. Something is coming on the water, something dangerous, and the saints aren't favouring you this day. Dire omens, I'm getting, for you... an abomination coming over the water, if I understand it."

I'll do a foretellin' for myself as well. I plan on spending the day around time helping any sick and wounded, praying for folks, etc. and what-have you, while getting a bit more dinero and asking some questions and finding out details.

(As a side note, St. Joseph is another name for Loco, or rather, in voodoo Saint Joseph and Loco are one and the same, different reflections of the same being. Don't know how much of real voodoo carries over in game, but at the very least they seemed to have suffered the same sort of general discrimination and thus would have similar code words in more broadly acceptably names for the Rada)

Luke, having been relaxing and thinking to himself, suddenly jolts aware.

"Ya think 'tis somethin' we can't handle? An abomination? Mo' like a yeller, 'cause it clearly has somethin' ta compensate for. I'm not gonna be scared 'til a fluffy pink rabbit charges at me furiously."
