I vote for Drop Troops. I've been mostly in the sidelines as far as voting goes because I've already taken part in quite a few regiment creations. Some bias could end up showing.

Since we got to this, I'll work in a post for a while. It'll offer both a regiment similar from our last one, from the same world (Vniedik), and a new concept for a Drop Troop regiment. Probably fluffing out the penitent tunnel fighters anyway just for kicks.

Remember, no need to rush this.

The Vniediken Drop Troops had many more training bonuses, like sharpshooters .

Well so long as it's drop troops and we take the covert strike equipment pack I'm happy. Synskin and preysense goggles will be essential if we're gonna be.scouts especially for night operation.

Immunity to thermal/infrared. Increased stealth. Goggles for enhanced vision in darkness. That is an absolute necessity.

Drop troops are a combination in some ways. They can be used for deep strikes and whatsuch.

Yeah, drop troopers are sort of like a blank slate mission wise. The equipment packs you buy and the training doctrines determines the regiments use. Basic regiments just get thrown into enemy territory to live or die.

Buy the infiltrator pack and suddenly you have a deep strike recon unit. Give them some heavy weapons and you have ambush capability. A couple of light vehicles like the Tauros and you've got speed and maneuverability once on the ground as well as a hit and run option.
They can be made to fit a lot of different scenarios with a relatively simple equipment swap.

It is, but drop troopers get fucked over especially hard. They don't even have the option of falling back away from the enemy to regroup. Once they drop it's win or die they have no way out.

Yeah, usually. I mean unless they're just reinforcing a group that can't land backup normally.
