You would be surprised how many weapons you know! We are exposed to them in so many movies and games that when they pop up and we see the name, it's like "Hey, I know that from The Terminator!" or whatever. Next to the weapon in the catalog we will have info about the weapon as well as where you may know it from.

I think you have convinced me to change the weapon art style. We are experimenting with it today and I will post a sample later.

So there is a Russian weaponry list... A long, long one, I'm afraid. ;)

Pistols and revolvers:
OTs-38 Stechkin silent revolver - a rare example of silent revolver, utilizing Russian piston cartridges. If we want something original, that's the thing. Well, one of the things, but a nice one.
MP-443 Grach - chambered for increased penetration 9x21mm Russian cartridge. Interesting, but produced in small quantities so far.

SMGs:
Bizon - chambered for 9x18mm, and pretty popular in recent FPS games, it uses helical magazine with 64 cartridges.
PP-2000 - a PDW chambered for good old favourite, 9x19mm, but designed to take advantage of new Russian versions of the cartridge with increased armour piercing capabilities. Also quite interesting looks.
PP-90 and PP-92 - for 9x18 and 9x19mm, respectively, with futuristic looks. Not produced in huge numbers... yet.
SR-2 - chambered for yet another variant of 9mm, the 9x21mm with tungusten core, designed to penetrate low-class bulletproof vests, able to stop ordinary pistol bullets.
PPSh-41 - well, this is really low-end right now, but for the poorest part of Africa, maybe?
Vityaz-SN - pretty standard one, with 9x19mm chambering, but it is now a standard SMG for most branches of Russian military and para-military organizations, which means it should be easy to skim a few.

ARs:
AS Val - also quite rare example of assault rifle with integrated suppressor. Using special 9x39 mm cartridge, it is known and liked by everybody who ever played Stalker.
AN-94 - known as Obokan or Abakan, modern replacement for older AK rifles. Due to problems with costs it will probably never replace AK-74... All the more reason to sell it on the side.
AK-47, AKM and AK-74 - no explanation needed, I think?
AK-107 - currently in testing as another option to replace AK-74.
AEK-971 - one more AR in trials to replace AK-74. Those are all quite similar, so I think it should be enough, even though there are quite a few more.
A-91 - bullpup assault rifle with integrated grenade launcher, currently in use with some elite units in Russia. Much more interesting design.
OTs-14 'Groza' - bullpup AR designed as a replacement for AKS-74U, shorter, carbine variant of AK-74.
SR-3 - yet another version of special-operations focused AR chambered for 9x39 subsonic round. Variant SR-3M with collapsible stock and detachable suppressor can fulfil variety of roles during special operations.

Machine guns:
RPD - older LMGs, served as kind of basis for later SAWs used in Soviets and subsequently in Russia. The production ceased in 1960s, but it is still in widespread use today, as is the case with numerous Soviet designs.
RPK - RPDs younger brother, or maybe more of a son. The RPK-74 version is still in production, and there are probably massive amounts ready to be bought and sold without many questions asked.
PK and newer PKP 'Pecheng' - heavier MGs firing 7.62x54mmR Warsaw - Pact style ammunition, in contrast to lighter 7.62x39mm used by RPD and RPK. Especially PK is used in massive numbers but it is soon to be replaced by Pecheng.
Kord-12.7 mm - as the name suggests, it is even heavier machine gun, currently in production and usage in Russia and for exports.

Sniper rifles:
VSS Vintorez - sister of AS Val, a suppressed sniper rifle using 9x39 mm ammunition. It can be stripped down to fit in standard sized briefcase.
Dragunov - because there are things that just must be included not to disappoint everybody.
SVU - much shorter, bull-pup version of Dragunov.
SV-98 - bolt action sniper rifle with effective range reported to be up to 1000 meters.
OSV-96 - anti-material sniper rifle chambered for 12.7x108mm Russian round, effective up to 1800 meters against enemy infantry and up to 2500m against vehicles. It is perceived as anti-sniper weapon, due to great range.
VKS - 12.7x55mm suppressed sniper rifle designed to engage heavily armoured targets in silence. Quite rare, but I always find it fascinating that there exists a thought process leading to creation a half-inch silent cartridge.

Grenade launchers:
RG-6 - revolver GL with quite unique appearances, firing 40mm caseless grenades.
AGS-17 'Flame' - fully automatic grenade launcher, using 30mm grenades.
AGS-30 - much newer fully automatic grenade launcher, also 30mm grenades.
GP-25 - underslung GL using 40mm caseless grenades.

Shotguns:
Baikal MP-153 - a semi-automatic shotgun. We don't have lot of those on the list so far, I think.
Saiga-12 - also well know, fully automatic, 12-gauge shotgun.
RMB-93 - short shotgun designed to limit encumbrance as much as possible.

Rocket launchers:
AT-13 - two-man portable anti-vehicle missile system. Know from BF3, but it was stationary there.
RPG-7 - older variant, reloadable and pretty well known from a variety of sources.
RPG-26 - much newer, disposable variant of anti-vehicle rocket launcher.

Mortar:
2B14 - 82mm mortar, because a mortar every now and then should be a useful thing. Also, Dogs of War.

So, I think that only USA is left? :)

It's good that the Russian list is long since they are the #1 supplier worldwide since 1972. Although China is likely to surpass the US and Russia in the next 10 years.

See, it turns out I remembered the list the wrong way and thought that USA is number one with weapons exports. Well, it will wait for its turn, because it is now time for something special - list of weapons from outside those 10 main countries that shall not be forgotten (even if not always they may be included)!

Austria:
Steyr AUG (in many, many variants) - compact, bull-pup design with transparent magazine and chambered for both 5.56 and 9mm. It is the embodiment of future-in-the-past, my fellow English users!

Belgium:
FN FAL - another good old favorite, isn't it?
FN P90 & FN Five-seveN - deadly 5.7mm cartridge, futuristic looks, large magazine. What do you want more, from a PDW?

Czech Republic:
Scorpion EVO III - new version of old, but always useful Scorpion, favorite of all the terrorists.

Singapore:
SAR-21 - bull-pup modern design, not unlike the AUG from Steyr. Interesting weapon from an interesting country.

South Africa:
Vector CR-21 - bull-pup housing for traditional AK-based mechanisms; interesting idea, if nothing more.

Switzerland:
SIG SG-550, SG-551 and/or SG-552 - classic design, classic cartridge, classic Swiss precision. There is only one side of those rifles that is good side, and only people on the good side are Swiss soldiers. And whoever you sell it to.

Poland:
MSBS Radon - modern, two-variant rifle, both bull-pup design for special ops, and classic one for infantry. Future might bring heavy-barreled marksman rifle and SAW version.

Also, one more rifle from Sweden worth including:
Bofors AK5 - interesting, Swedish-designed AR firing 5.56 standard NATO cartridge. Why have I missed it before? I don't know. But here it is, if a little late. :)

Just... one... more... list...

United States this time. Because that's what is left.

Pistols and revolvers:
M1911 - cult classic chambered for .45 ACP, which we cannot forget.
Colt Anaconda, Ruger Redhawk and S&W model 625 - a few revolvers for a good mix. Nice looking, firing pretty nice cartridges, and you always can just rotate the cylinder and fire again. No more jams.
Browning Hi-Power - design by American inventor, so I think we could include it here? One of most widely used guns of all times.

SMGs:
MAC-11 - the weapon of disco era, as it is called; small, compact, fast-shooting and hard to control.
KRISS Vector - something old, something new, as they say: KRISS Vector is futuristic design with reduced recoil and muzzle climb, firing .45 ACP with surprising accuracy.

Assault rifles:
M16 - and the whole family of those, which bear various designations I'm not feeling competent to decode. ;)

Shotguns:
Ithaca 37 - with it's underbarrel ejection/loading port, it is widely used, even though the design is nearing a hundred years of age.
Remington 870 - iconic shotgun of our times, isn't it?

Sniper rifles:
Barrett M82 - another one that doesn't really need an explanation.
M24 - much lighter than Barrett, firing 7.62mm NATO style projectile, the go-to sniper rifle of US military.
CheyTec Intervention - super-high precision sniper rifle using custom cartridges. They come as a set with weather station, range finder and ballistic computer.
SAM-R - designated marksman rifle used by US Marines; pretty new, but based on old and tried M-16 platform.

Machine guns:
M2 Browing - .50 cal heavy machine gun, used to score some of the longest distance sniper hits in history, and able to hit targets over a mile away with direct and indirect fire. Another of John Browing's long lasting ideas, in service since 1933 and still as deadly as back then.
M249 - the SAW, using light 5.56mm cartridge, and also one of the guns that everybody knows from all those game and movies and what have you.
M60 - a little aged design firing 7.62 mm ammo.

Others:
M14 - oldie but goodie, a pretty precise rifle that is well past its prime time, and all the more likely to be found on the less-than-legal markets.

Well, the list come a little bit shorter than I expected, but well - maybe it is for good? The Russia got longer one, but it is also bigger exporter, so there's that. :)

BlindKitty, I thought you might get a kick out of comparing my list to yours on a country. For the US

Vector *     Sub                    http://goo.gl/uIxwsq
Thompson M1 * Sub            http://goo.gl/gsbUXP
AA-12        Shotgun             http://goo.gl/7cDLCL
Mossberg 590A1 Shotgun    http://goo.gl/gNfqLc
Pancor Jackhammer   Shotgun http://goo.gl/F8JbD5
B.A.R.  *       Assault Rifle     http://goo.gl/hOC7k0
M107 *      Sniper                  http://goo.gl/FYzdIy
CheyTac Intervention Sniper  http://goo.gl/RdgvnL
FLYER      Vehicle                  http://goo.gl/4Oxypn
Stryker      Vehicle                  http://goo.gl/yDhC2P       http://goo.gl/YM54mK
SRTV        Vehicle                  http://goo.gl/z7DQtP
OH-58 Kiowa Vehicle              http://goo.gl/pILTWj

I take some liberties to make things interesting like the Pancor Jackhammer which wasn't a production weapon but is iconic in video games and a few movies. Also, I am using some light vehicles from countries that would likely be able to be shipped and are sexy. In this example the Stryker would only be available in numbers of up to 5 probably, Kiowas at up to 3 maybe but the awesome FLYER and SRTV could easily be shipped around and are likely to 10 years from now on the second hand market. My unit in trained heavily on the precursor to the FLYER but we only combat deployed them once. Mostly they were too lightly armored for sustained combat and too conspicuous for urban insertion and tactical egress/evasion. We would either ride in multiple Strykers with fangs out or up-armored SUVs and sometimes just a Toyota Tacoma pickup with a mounted MK19 or M240B/M2. I preferred the pickup as you had full visibility, great agility and never got trapped inside of a burning one.

When do preorders start?

Sometime between when you pry my keyboard from my cold dead hands and hell freezes over.

Seriously, it's bad enough that I am going to ask you to buy the game based on your educated decision from looking at screenshots, a trailer or two and MAYBE a beta or demo(demo prob won't be out until 30 days post launch if at all due to nature of the game style). It would be abusive for me to ask you to pay for the game before I could give you access or before it was done. I'm not a believer in Early Access personally(it's good for some!) and that means I am going to try to sell you a game I consider complete, but probably not bug free. I will keep working on the game until it's bug free and I have plans to add a handful of extra content at no cost. If there is a feature(or a bunch) that people demand and I am unable to afford it then I might take a vote to see if there is support for a low fee add-on, but I am not a fan of a bunch of little extra purchases that should have been part of the base game. I'm not selling a game here, I'm selling my name, my reputation. Not everyone will love my games but I hope most people will respect what I do enough to consider everything I offer. I aim to do that by being fair, if not generous and honest, if not naive about the business.

Good addictive gameplay with random elements and decent replay with fresh(ish) concepts for a low price.

I'm in the middle of developing two games at once plus working on two client's games as well as helping family and a friend with serious issues, so excuse me if sleep deprivation has made my responses more epic than usual. I assure you that I employ a top notch editor that takes a chainsaw to all of my professional work with a passion.

Yeah, I had a feeling I'm missing something for the US, but it was getting really late on my side of the pond and I wanted to put up the list... And now I know a few things I was missing and knew it, Mk 14 EBR especially. :) Also, the BAR; I just love it so much, but I wasn't sure about including it on my list due to its age. Anyway, I'm really happy that I could help a little. :)

i'm not exactly sure if this question was raised yet and am too lazy to go through all of very little pages to ask

do you have underground weapons manufacturing planned for your next project?

like ak47 knockoffs that could be realistically made in a workshop with less than $3k of equipment in it, or grenades made from explosives created in clandestine chemistry labs - all of which obviously would be cheaper to make, but fetch a proportionally lower price unless demand is sky high and people are trying to get their hands on everything that can potentially kill someone else or you somehow reach the quality of actual arms manufacturers (in which case you're probably practically skipping ahead to the multi-mil stage?)

it's a hella cool concept to me

A random question you might know the answer to: can you make 3d models of guns and put them into your game without paying the manufacturer of the gun? I would think that the design and name of a gun are something a manufacturer would want to protect.

You take over a former Arms Factory and it did cost you as the player $$$$$$$. While you can't make illegal copies of weapons in your garage, you are confronted with unlicensed versions of your weapons diluting the market and can choose how to handle it. Further, you can also reverse engineer the competition's weapons and make your own "improvements" as well as engage in industrial espionage. Who knows, you might be able to have someone break into a rival's office and change design documents to introduce critical flaws or perhaps someone tampers with the steel supply at an opponent's factory which results in exploding upper receivers during their government contract trials, making your submission the winner by default?

I answered by PM since it's a general development question and not about the game.
