Meen high-tails it out of there, apologizing profusely.

"The prosecution will now summon an adequate, reliable witness, rather than that dotard, who seems far too impressionable for his own good. Next witness!"
A short recess is called.

"During the recess, I did some research of my own. It would appear that the King had done lots of sword training in his youth, so he would be a professional. This witness will explain why the wound was so messy."


"Name. Profession."

"I am-a Perrino, yeah? I-a guard la castle, a-yeah?"

"This guard was one of the people who saw Meen when he screamed for the guards. Hopefully he can help elucidate the truth."

"Tell the court what you saw when the dotard that was here before screamed."

"So, the creepy guy went into the room, yeh?"
"An' then 'eh called for help."
"I ran in the room with 'ee grey floor an' eh tan walls an' eh doors an' eh windows all quick-like, yeh?"
"An' there is the Duke's body, with 'e big wound an' all. 'Ere was blood all over 'es clothes, an' 'eh floor."
"'Eh sword was a-lying next to the body. Eet 'ad slipped out from 'eh wound, an' made eet beeger as eet fell, an' so the wound was messy an' 'eez blood was everywhere."

"See? It makes sense now. Cross-examine all you like, you'll never make a difference."

((Also: The implication was that the killer was holding the sword while it was in the wound, before drawing it out. No contradiction.))

"The king had never actually fought somebody and had not trained in several years. It is therefore not only plausible, but likely that he would be unfamiliar with the physics of tearing the blade from the duke's flesh."

"and lets not forget how you spoke of the possibilities of magic assination! you said you had looked over the posibbites of magic and and found no way for it to happen! you claimed magic was tightly controlled. yet what was the profession of your first witness!? a magician!"

"do you have any manner of explanation for this contradiction, I can understand a few mistakes, but it concerns me that our information on cd-I hyrule might be inaccurate. and we may need to re-evaluate our understandings"
