Oh well, it's not like I'll stumble on anything particularly useful by the first turn. Or something lethal that kills me.

Matthias surveyed his surrounding with curiosity. One thing was imminent: He is alive. Not wanting to dwell too much about the circumstances that led to this revival of some sort until he gets more clue, he decides to step outside while thumbing through the book as he murmured a "spell" just to see what would happen.

Walk through the door while casting the spell

Now POST ACTIONS FOR FIRST TURN
Ooh, question! Can we say words via PMs, as in Perplexicon? If so, how much information do we need to post (such as how much pool we're dedicating)?

Yes you can PM words, Information would be the words (or reference ID's ) and the pool dedication, If you do not post a pool dedication I will message you back whining about pool allocation

A note on this: Transmutation in the current ruleset has changed, but telling you would be meta so I will simply say
that asking around about it will inform you, although some NPC's may only trade such information for words.

Why is this meta? because it is a way of using magic that is not dependent on words but application

How many words do I need to say to shoot off a spell?
Minimum one word to shoot off a spell but you have pool to consider. So if a spell has a cost of 5 you want about 10 pool casting as you have on each die 50% chance of gaining a success. So to cast a spell with one word you could use one pool but it may not succeed because it costs 3 like tungsten carbide for example and a score of 3 is extremely hard to score with one die. It is possible though with a critical a critical is when you roll the pool and gain a number of sucesses greater than the number of dice so on one die if you roll a 6 you gain two (you outnumber the die by one), and roll again only needing a 4 or greater for a spell of cost three. This is the exception and not the rule however

By the way, should we make a Perplexicon TV Tropes page for the game and its spinoffs?))

Yes. Yes we should. Mabye tv tropes forum will try this one out too.

Edit: The fun of replying to post via phone without refreshing the page is expresed by replies some fifteen posts later.
