Just curious, if a person would have a character in this, would they be able to use cards they own?  I have a...few old ones from when I was into the game.

Well, actually, regardless of which it goes, you can use any cards, excluding Tuners, Synchros etc. Obviously, cards such as the God Cards and The Sacred Beasts would also be forbidden from being in your deck, but other than that anything goes.

Uhh, I guess it could be done after he attended? That way, our characters could have a lot of people to aspire toward.

I say start before, but going into during over the course of the game.  I want to laugh at their plot while we pursue our own crazy mess.

Does this mean that we would be using the Traditional Format (No forbidden cards, cards labeled forbidden are instead limited (only one copy per deck))?

I would prefer it if we used the latest banlist just so we avoid broken combos
