Dang. I was thinking of something like this, but with rules and (some) balance and stuff.

Actually, it might be a good idea to restrict specific fights to certain sizes (AKA Exo/Small only, Large/Huge only, &c.)

As it stands I expect and hope to be ganged up on. Or I could pull out that placeholder exo and use that instead. Or we could all roll steampunk machines for extra fun.

Well, I'm going to say right off you can only attack one target a turn, so swarm tactics would be effective(if the dice cooperate). Things like recoil and computer assists do give a small bonus to attack rolls(and autoloaders and anything automatic can attack more than once, though still at only one target), and some traits and extras have a benefit(for instance, that Esoteric Power source you have, if you roleplay being hotblooded enough, fills up a gauge and when full, activates Overdrive Mode, where you can take two entire turns at once(including hitting two different targets!) until the gauge depletes. However, you incur damage to the machine every turn you have it active, and it can outright destroy your mech if you keep using it).

Though, you won't know what bonuses and stuff are until they come up :P

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

Spoiler: Tengri-khan (click to show/hide)

I rolled this randomly and I don't know what half these words even mean. What is an APDS? What is a ECM APS?

Armor-Piercing/Discarding Sabot
Electronic Countermeasure...Anti-Projectile System, I think.
Google it.

Also, added a rules section for clarification to the OP

'Kay, Googled it. Say, how will our optics systems affect gameplay? And does that ejecting seat option sign me up for a potentially hilarious game of "who brought a dude to a mech fight"?

APDS is Armor-Piercing Discarding Sabot.

ECM APS is Electronic Counter-Measures Active Protection System

Well ejection seats allow you to survive destruction, and if you can go a couple turns without getting squashed you can get to a pickup zone and get a new random mech(or, you can attempt to hijack another person's mech, but expect a high failure chance of that!)
As for optics, they are mainly flavor, though some defense systems do help defeat some optics(up until they start shooting, of course!)

(double post, pardon me)

Just rolled another for the fun of it... and holy crud. Can I save my first one as backup, and use this one first?

Just rolled up a mech for the waitlist, but I'm surprised how the rolls worked out. Not sure how good it is, though.

That entire side of the mech is dedicated to wielding that weapon. It says 'arm-mounted' but it's really more like 'hip-mounted-arm-controlled'.

Also you need to roll the mount for that microwave emitter
