Albretch's assistant finally gets back to him. The runic markings appear to be a Norse and Greek cross of magic symbols. The picture that Albretch took was a dual purpose pattern, half of it was for surveillance, the other half was a regeneration setup meant to restore the setup incase it was destroyed. Albretch can only assume the runes have returned. His assistant also says that the last known user of these types of runic magics was an ancient demon born in a missing Viking Settlement in Sweden.

Bartimaeus doubts this is a good idea as a fly, there is a lot of cold coming from the ice-shaft. As a fly, that is a large risk he is taking.

Bartimaeus scuttles down the ice shaft. Damn, it's going down deep. Definetly below the ice. The elevator shaft ends in a laboratory hanging from the ceiling of a large, perfectly spherical cavern in the ice. A glass-floor gives vision into the cavern below, well lit through flood lights. Extremely strong anti-void field generators are aimed towards the center of the cave, holding a rapidly moving bright light trapped in a field bubble. Various instruments are aimed at the nexus serpent, all of them at a large safety distance. The ground of the cave seems to be littered with various junk, from trees to carwrecks to just glass in various geometric forms.

[4] Bartimeus forceful entry through the kitchen still remains undetected.
