The Qld syllabus makes no sense to anyone, and I can't wait for this shit to finally end, so I can start uni.

feel free to hand the organic chemistry to me, I know this shit. Not actually well enough to actually get a degree, because god damned quantum mechanics are so hard they drive me to become a cook instead, but organics on school level are easy as shit

Oh good, so it isn't just me. Though in my case it's probably because the thought that maths would actually be grounded in reality rather than asking things related to people getting pushed off cliffs, or holes being drilled through the diameter of the planet, or alternate realities with different laws of physics is entirely alien to me

I don't think his concerns are as much about the difficulty, but rather the nature of the content. Assuming this is their syllabus, they lack some of the advanced content of the Extension 2 course and have, I'm not really sure what, some kind of thing that makes it recommended to 'Use detectors or sensors to investigate problems' which is arguably more physics related than pure maths. Though in fairness, they at least have matrices, which is missing in its entirety from the entire NSW syllabus.

yeah, matrices should come way earlier in school. They are a tool with broad useage, and really, lots of it is just addition and multiplication. Anyone can do that, especialy if you are allowed a calculator

Let's just say that Australia has a rather strange education system with about eight different syllabuses (one per state). They tried getting in a national education system, but it's rather incompatible with NSW's Maths and English courses. Since Maths in NSW is altogether superior and covers more but lacks matrices whilst English in NSW is, well, it's an abomination that seems to be some kind of pop philosophy and conceptual studies of useless matters.
