To become a lich, you need some ichor of a demon, some ambrosia, a feather of a phoenix and the heart of a giant sandworm. Oh, and you need a suitable phylactery, AND the skills to perform the ritual, including the proper invocation in a forgotten language. Good luck being reasonable about getting those.
