Magic has shown its face around these parts. How do you feel about it?

It's not reasonable! Quit messing around with the laws of reality!

Meh, who cares? Reasonable people work with what they're given.

Most excellent. It would be reasonable for everyone to have some abilities.

(Min. RtD) The Return of Reasonability
« on: May 21, 2014, 10:50:07 pm »

I have been given the mantle of GM for Roll to Act in a Completely Reasonable Manner, so I completely reasonably reboot it with a new thread.

This will be a quite minimalist game. Roleplaying is allowed, but please don't flood the thread with pages upon pages of giggling around, as that makes it harder to notice all actions posted.

The game will be played with a 20-sider. 1 is absolute failure, 2-7 are varying degrees of failure. 8-16 mean a success, with 12 being perfect success. 8-11 can be underwhelming, 13-16 did a little too much. 17-20, as is reasonable to assume, are overshots, to the point the original point of the action might not be achieved.

I'll try to update daily, on some days maybe twice, but no less than 12 hours after the last update. Due to popular demand, I update when there's a reasonable amount of posts and/or 6-12 hours have passed.

No character sheet is required, just post your first action if you want to join.

Be reasonable. Have fun.

You all wake up in your own beds, at home, on a beautiful morning. You have about an hour and a half before you each have to go to work. What do you do?

Have coffee.
[18]

You make way too much, and boil it way too hot. You end up scalding your hands and spilling most of the pot on the floor. You do manage to get some in your cup, though, and drink it quickly.

Take a shower, read the news
[7]

Your shower runs out of hot water just as you're finishing, and the newspaper is extremely dull today. Politicians throwing fallacies around, some old tree in a national park has a birthday, nothing interesting.

Listen to Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy on my radio.
[10]

You do so, and do some ballet jumps.

Go to work.
[15]

Despite the fact that you're extremely early, you go out and drive towards your workplace. You are now stuck in traffic.

Well, nothing can stop me from having a nice day, eh? Listen to classical music while waiting for traffic to diminish!

Drive to work.
[5]

Your car refuses to start. The engine hiccups heavily. Your scalded hands still hurt.

Watch boring talk shows on television.
[3]

As it turns out, someone has stolen your television while you were asleep. In its place is a note that says "Thx 4 TV sucka" in pieces cut out from magazines.

Make a ham sandwich and some cereal
[13]

Delicious breakfast. You eat and feel ready for the challenges of the day.

Well, nothing can stop me from having a nice day, eh? Listen to classical music while waiting for traffic to diminish!
[1]

Ear-splitting black metal blares from your stereos. In your pain, you accidentally strike the pedal to the metal and crash into the car in front of you. A tough-looking man exits the car and approaches yours.

Eat food.
[15]

You eat breakfast. Bacon, porkchops, beef and lard for drink. You don't eat a lot, but the unhealthiness leaves you feeling bloated.

Wave at IcyTea.
Why, hi there. If you'd just let me close this gaping hole in the fourth wall and be on my way...

Wake up.
You're already awake, and this isn't Inception.

Wake up. FUCK SHIT UP
You're already awake.

[20]

You rise from your bed and immediately kick a wall down. Too bad it was a load-bearing wall in your own house. Your ceiling creaks loudly.
