Yep. I've not actually run a play-by-post DnD game before, so I figured I'd check interest and establish what house rules we'll be using to make play-by-post work, as well as seek advice.

I was thinking of the following rules:
-The only open books are PHB1, MM1, and DMG1, in the interest of keeping things simple. I might be convinced to do otherwise, but not if we have a lot of new-to-DnD people.
-We'll use Mythweavers character sheets. You have to register for the site, but they're convenient and easy to update.
-Attribute scores would be either (15,14,13,12,10,8) or 3d6 down the line, depending how sadistic we want the campaign to be.
-Either way you choose your race and class. I'm thinking 1st level.
-Setting? I've got a few ideas floating around. Probably either a traditional DnD dungeon romp, or if we want to so something more esoteric, a scoundrel-themed campaign.
-Definitely going to want to go lax on spaciality. I'll probably just keep track of the distances between people and not worry about AoO's too much (so don't build your character around them).
-Probably double or triple XP and loot, because forum DnD runs slow.

So, who's interested, and what direction do you reckon i should pull the campaign in? Once I get four or five interested, I'll throw together some final rules on character building and make an IC thread which establishes the actual setting.

PSA: Add "Sensei" to the people allowed to edit your character sheet, and I'll help you fill stuff out.

We're running a 3.5 campaign, classic style- it's a dungeon romp, with character attributes rolled 3d6 down the line by yours truly. Currently, there's a short wait list.

Bewarned that sometimes, 3d6 rolls suck. Don't worry, I expect a quick turnover rate.

Don't think i've ever actually done just an ordinary dungeon romp before (e..g start going into a dungeon) so I vote for that.

I vote we do 3d6. I recommend you roll for people to avoid any... adjustments... people might be tempted to make.

Maybe start at second level? I've heard a lot about how first level everyones a bit fragile to survive any mistakes, really. It just helps things along a little to be 2nd level, but is still a low-power campaign.

I'm certainly down for doing so straight up, old-fashioned dungeon times. And yes, I'd be rolling attributes- I won't even use random.org, I've got 3d6 right here on my desk. I'll stick to first level, since if we're doing a dungeon it might as well be SUDDEN DEATH, but don't worry, the characters who live will level up fast.

So, anyone else interested? If I can get a few comers and we've no further questions, I'll hand out attribute scores. Since there's not a ton to do at this level, I can also easily accept people who've not played DnD before. We'll ease you in.

I'd more than likely be a human rogue, because I haven't satisfactorily (i.e. long term) played one PBP on here yet.

edit: I don't mind the setting or anything like that. I would suggest that the system of "Marching Orders" or something that we used on the game whose GM's name I forget was very good for slightly speeding up PBP combat - I think we had standard orders for the first three turns of combat?

edit two: I'm not especially familiar with the rules but know enough to play as long as I don't do magic or complicated stuff I might consider being a dwarven rogue just for a change.

I'd presumably be up for it. I'm familiar with the DnD ruleset, though I haven't actually played a game in it yet. The honest rolls thing sounds fun.

I'd be up for playing: I'm very familiar with D&D, and I'd be happy for you to roll the stats and assign them randomly to the players.

I'm interested. I'm somewhat familiar with the ruleset, though I've only played a single game so far. I'l propably pick a half-elf rogue or DORF WARRIOR.
