If anyone needs help with their character, I can do that. After a little while, churning out first level characters gets as easy as farting.
I might have to be a wizard.
Er, how do you be a wizard?
I will be human, so what two feats should I pick? Or shouldn't I be human? Arg!
HOW TO BE A WIZARD (basically):
You know a limited number of spells, which are recorded in your spellbook. The list of spells is
here, you get to know all 0-level spells and pick three 1st level spells. Also look at the table for the
wizard class, it says you can cast 3 0-level spells and one first level spell per day if you are a 1st level wizard. You prepare spells each day, so basically, you choose spells you know to put in your spell slots. For example, if you have three 1st lvel spell slots, and you know the 1st level spells Mage Armor, Magic Missile and Charm Person, you can prepare to cast any of those spells up to three times or some combination thereof- say, a mage armor and two magic missiles. You don't get those spell slots back until the next day.
Note that you can actually cast a few more spells than on the wizard class table: if you look at the
bonus spells table on this page, you'll see that a 15 in your casting attribute, intelligence, gives you an extra 1st and 2nd level spell. Since you don't know 2nd level spells yet, you can just put a 1st level spell in that slot. Effectively, as a 1st level wizard with 15 intelligence, you can cast three 1st level spells per day.
Most spells require material components- they either come from a spell component pouch (buy it once and then don't think about spell components) or the Eschew Material Components feat, which lets you ignore any spell components without a listed price. I recommend the latter. Also, as a wizard, you shouldn't wear armor because it gives you a chance to fuck up your spells. Use the mage armor spell and stay away from fighting when you can.
Also, since monster manual 1 is open, you can use races from there such as the gray elf. But only if you're a dirty, dirty power gamer.
Gray Elf Traits (Ex): These traits are in addition to the high elf
traits.
— +2 Intelligence, –2 Strength.
