As long or as short as you like, the play time.
If you are on for a bit, like for example Elder Scrolls is in maintenance, you can run dungeons, otherwise, if you are short on time, you can queue roughly... anywhere between 1 hour to +19 hours at once.  (2 seven hour jobs and 2 sleep cycles, with 1 more free action)

Somewhat unfortunately, that option only arises when you've paid.  There is a form of premium time, sort of.  If you've ever had your account billed (not just that you have crowns, but that you've actually spent money) then you get a better queue system that accounts for sleep and such, as well as giving you a time listed for when your queue will be done.

Ah, shoot, been so long, I forgot that was a premium feature.

If you are new or even not so new, send me a message in-game or in the steam chat. I may be able to set you up with a nice ring/pendant that can give a fairly significant skill or terrain boost.

Wait, another thread? What. Why do we have like three threads for this game.

Because we like it.  And because some of the tips, tools, and spreadsheets could be buried in the 77 pages of the first 1.

Well, I think I'm in, time permitting, and currently making my way in the world by selling cheap healing potions, at least until I can figure out what else I'd like to do and buy some training. Is there any protocol to that spreadsheet or do I just push my own info on to it? And are there any larger scale B12 shenanigans I should be aware of that I might possibly work towards?

Is it worthwhile to learn all of the skill categories early on, or should I just specialize?

Just stick yourself somewhere in the "Unguilded" section. The numbers everyone has been entering (theoretically <_<) is the number that shows up with you best tool/workshop/companion etc. without a potion (not the "Hero" value).

At the moment Watchers of the Bay are working towards the fashion building and the manor (guild cap to 25 ^^), but I don't think there's much to do for either that we don't need either expensive resources or high skills for <_<.

Come hang in _Urist_ in game or the steam chat for faster answers to questions (probably >_>).

I'd suggest specialising - not super finely, as there's usually a slightly weaker trade out of the three in a category (for example, prospecting is a bit hard to level up on its own without working on forging and foundrywork) but splitting your focus between multiple trade sets will slow you down, especially early on. It is handy to have access to other trades (esp. for things like blades and such) but these can be acquired from other players (low level stuff especially you can probably score a bunch of for free from other b12ers) and via alts. A little more detail on alts - you can have as many accounts as you like (and thus as many alts as you like), but any of the paid upgrades will only apply to characters on the account the upgrades were bought on.

If you can produce regeneration potions for regaining energy, I could REALLY use those.  I'd be willing to supply you with tools and concession equipment if you'd be willing to work on your herbalism.

This looks reasonably interesting. As an as-yet-unopinionated newb, were I to start this is there any specialty that we could use or that's particularly in demand right now?

Do what looks the most interesting to you.  If you think you'll have lots of time to play this, then I'd suggest going the fauna route and doing dungeons.

So we have two projects currently ongoing.  Project: Fashion were we are working on gathering the difficult to come back fabric to complete the quest.  The second is more interesting to fellow Bay12 players and that is Project: Manor.  I have updated my original post so you can see what exactly we need so far.
