Lol. It is true that it is pretty impressive that the goblin war machine can sustain such heavy casualties and loss of resources. That is part of how Rome beat hanibal with sheer numbers over tactical superiority.

Scipio out Hannibaled Hannibal though. Though I do admit, Rome's danger rooms did allow it to mass produce quality troops at a rate that Carthage could simply not match through sparring.

I've heard less ridiculous conspiracy theories. It's the vampires, dummy. They encourage the goblins to attack so the dwarves will train up strong, delicious soldiers.

Goblins also don't age, like elves, so if you're lucky you can kill goblins that were around since the beginning of history. All lining up to get eviscerated in some masterwork trap hallway.

Personally I blame the dwarves; They're always building massive forts full of weapons and facilities, then abandoning them to a mysterious force known as 'fps'. All those lost settlements add up to a massive industrial base.

Goblins realized that you can smelt clay into iron. Dwarves haven't figured this out yet.
